Pokemon GO Dataminer Finds Hints For Upcoming Gen 4 Content

Gen 4 content seems even likelier to be included.

It wasn’t long ago that we reported about a possible tease from Pokemon GO that seemed to be hinting at the addition of Gen 4 Pokemon at some point in the future. Some time has passed since then and we haven’t really heard much else, but now new evidence seems to have surfaced that suggests that Gen 4 content is almost certainly on the way.

Well known Pokemon GO dataminer Chrales has discovered files in the game that seem to be alluding to Gen 4 content. More specifically, the file in question refers to badges and Pokedex entries from Gen 4, while also explicitly mentioning “Sinnoh”, which of course was the region that Pokemon Diamond/Pearl/Platinum were set in. Chrales has also tweeted about this (you can view the tweet below).

Though this isn’t officially confirmed by any means, we should note that Chrales has had a pretty good track record with this sort of stuff. Just recently, for instance, his datamining efforts discovered that Celebi (among others) could soon be added to the game, and sure enough, the announcement that that the legendary Johto Pokemon is making its way over to Pokemon GO was made very recently. There’s also the fact to consider that the game features Pokemon from the first three generations already, so adding Gen 4 Pokemon seems like a natural and obvious next step.
