Pokemon GO Is Teasing the Addition of Gen 4 Pokemon

They'd be pretty good additions to the game for the upcoming Winter...

There s a schism that exists in Pokemon. Diamond/Pearl/Platinum, which marked the fourth generation of the series, was the final time Pokemon games dared to be expansive, willing to let the player get lost within their worlds, chock full of secrets, and hours of content even after the game was complete. After this, Pokemon games would become steadily more linear, holding the player’s hand, tutorializing, and generally front loading their content so there was nothing for the post game.

What I am saying is, there’s a generation of players that longs for Pokemon as it was up until Diamond/Pearl/Platinum. Not to mention that actual kids who grew up on it probably have a longing sense of nostalgia for it as well.

Those groups will probably find their needs well served with Pokemon GO very soon. The popular mobile game has started teasing Gen 4 Pokemon coming to it. The Pokemon GO account posted a tweet commemorating its two year anniversary, showing trainers and their Pokemon just chilling in a picture they shared in it. However, if you look at the at carefully, you will see that Gen 4 starter Pokemon – Turtwig, Piplup, and Chimchar- in it. It’s clearly a tease for Sinnoh Pokemon to be added to the game. I get the feeling they’d be perfect additions for this Winter…

If recent datamining reports of the game are to be believed, apparently those might not be the only new critters being added to the game. The likes of Celebi, Jirachi, Deoxys, among others, may very well be headed to Pokemon GO as well. Read more about that here. Pokemon GO is out now on iOS and Android smart devices.
