Pokemon Scarlet and Violet Reveal Three New Pokemon – Ceruledge, Amarouge, Klawf

Ceruledge, Amarouge, and Klawf were all spotted in the recent Pokemon trailer, and have now received more details.

With Pokemon Scarlet and Violet’s November launch getting closer, new details on the titles have been coming in thick and fast of late. We recently got a new trailer that highlighted the three main storylines that you’ll be focusing on throughout your adventure in the Paldea region, while details on a couple of interesting new gameplay mechanics were also revealed.

To go along with that, some of the many new Pokemon that’ll be introduced with Pokemon Scarlet and Violet has also been revealed. Ceruledge, Amarouge, and Klawf are all new monsters that we glimpsed in the game’s newest trailer, and now, Nintendo has provided more details on all of them.

Ceruledge has swords for arms and has ghostly blue flames emerging from various parts of the body. As per Nintendo’s description, it “dons an old set of armour steeped in grudges” and “wields blades made of fire and ghost energy.” Apparently it’s willing to “do anything to win”, including “tactics like sneak and surprise attacks.”

Then there’s Amarouge, Ceruledge’s counterpart, so to speak. It uses psychic powers, which it gets from its armour. The armour, interestingly enough, was “once owned by a distinguished warrior.” Nintendo says Amarouge “believes in a fair fight, so it’ll challenge you head-on.”

Finally, Klawf is a giant enemy crab. It “rotates protruding eyeballs and latches upside down onto cliffs to ambush its prey”, and has “strong, dexterous claws” that can “grasp its prey very tightly.” If Klawf ever loses a claw, it’ll grow back after some time.

You can also get more details on Ceruledge, Amarouge, and Klawf from their pages on the official Pokemon website through the links.

Recently, The Pokemon Company also revealed another new Pokemon, the Poison/Normal type toxic monkey Grafaiai. Read more on that through here.

Pokemon Scarlet and Violet are due out on November 18 for the Nintendo Switch.
