In an age where AAA titles are regularly missing their original release date targets, there are a number of UK retailers who are publicly announcing that Fallout 4 cannot be among them. Officially unveiled at E3 2015 after being announced a week earlier, Bethesda made one of the biggest splashes of the game conference by showing off everything the game will be able to do once it’s finished. It turns out, the splash was so big, there are more than a few people worried about a splash back should the game get delayed and consumers get angry.
“It’s really important that Fallout 4 hits this year and doesn’t become yet another marquee title that slips into 2016,” the sales boss of Simply Games Steve Moore told MCV. Moore added he was encouraged by the fact that Bethesda had announced the date so early. He also said that releasing the game so close to this year’s version of Call of Duty showed courage on the company’s part.
There is no doubt that if Fallout 4 can hit the November 10 release date, it can and will be one of the biggest games of the year. The game has already gotten plenty of talk about “game of the year” based solely on the videos shown off at the Bethesda press conference. Other UK retailers are saying preorders for the title are already through the roof. The UK’s biggest retailer in this area, GAME believes interest could easily surpass Skyrim.
Fallout 4 is slated for release on the Xbox One, PS4 and PC on November 10, 2015. Let’s all hold our breaths and hope Bethesda makes that date.
