While this month doesn’t have as many big games as last year, there are still titles like Ubisoft’s Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown to look forward to. As a 2D Metroidvania title, it stars Sargon, a warrior and member of the Immortals, on a journey to rescue Prince Ghassan.
Those who want to immerse themselves in the setting can choose Farsi (denoted as Persian in the settings) as the spoken language, as per Game Informer’s hands-on impressions. It’s similar toAssassin’s Creed Mirage, which featured an Arabic voice-acting option for all characters to match its setting of 9th century Baghdad.
Along with difficulty options, it offers Guided and Exploration modes, like many open-world Ubisoft titles over the years. As expected, the former will ensure you don’t get lost. The latter is less forgiving with sporadic hints, though you should be able to set waypoints on the map.
Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown launches on January 18th for PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PC and Nintendo Switch. A free demo goes live on January 11th – head here for the latest gameplay.
