Project CARS Tops The 1 Million Units Sold Mark

The game hits the 1 million units sold mark in less than 30 days.

While there have been complaints here and there about the look and the performance of Project CARS, it doesn’t appear as if any of those complaints have damaged sales for the game. On Friday, Slightly Mad Studios has seen more than 1 million copies of the game sold across the three platforms it is currently being offered on.

Project CARS is available on the PC, PS4 and Xbox One. The developer has said that the feedback the community has given the company since the game’s launch has helped the team make the game better on the fly and led to the robust sales. “Throughout development, the community were instrumental in guiding the game – giving us feedback daily on each build iteration, telling us what needed improving, highlighting what they’d like to see included, and ultimately approving it as the racing game of their dreams,” studio head Ian Bell said.

The sales numbers are even more impressive when you take into account the game has been on the market for less than a month. It should also be pointed out that Project CARS hasn’t even tapped all the potential platforms it was aiming for. The game was originally also slated for a Wii U release but in what has become a rather common occurrence, it had to be delayed. Slightly Mad has said that the Nintendo Console simply isn’t powerful enough to offer the game at the fullest of its abilities. As the developers continue to tweak the game, one has to wonder if the sky is the limit when it comes to sales numbers.
