PS3 and PS Vita Stores Won’t Have Credit/Debit Cards and PayPal as Payment Options Following October 27th

Sony has announced that support for payments through credit/debit cards and PayPal will no longer be available after October 27th for PS3 and PS Vita's stores.

Sony has announced that the PS3 and PS Vita’s digital storefronts will be dropping support for credit/debit cards and PayPal payments. The support will be dropping on October 27th, as revealed in an official notice on Sony’s own website

Those wanting to purchase games for these platforms will have to top up their PlayStation wallets, and then use those funds to purchase any services or games. This will, of course, affect PlayStation Plus subscriptions as well, and renewal will have to be done through the use of the PlayStation Store’s wallet.

The PS3 and PS Vita are definitely getting on in age, but where the current landscape is concerned, Sony’s been making some big moves. The company has been on a steady spree of studio acquisitions, with Bluepoint Games, Firesprite, and Housemarque being made part of the PlayStation Studios in the last few months – and it seems more acquisitions will keep on coming
