According to an executive from Sony Spain, the PlayStation 4 is outselling the Xbox One by a ratio of 3:1 in Spain. Unfortunately for Sony, they continue to show an inability to honor the massive amount of pre-orders that came. This is a massive oversight on their part, and could cost them some customer loyalty in the future.
As of November 29th, the PS4 has sold somewhere in the neighborhood of 80,000 units since the European release date, and Sony claims to have another 12-15,000 units soon to be shipped in order to fulfill more pre-order debacles.
As of December 3rd, Sony announced that the PlayStation 4 had sold a total of 2.1 million units worldwide. However, according to Microsoft, Xbox One sales achieved numbers of over one million in less than 24 hours, so the race remains close. As of right now, however, it seems that Sony is still in the lead, despite their pre-order situation.
