Quantum Break Writer: “There’s a Logical Reason Why It’s Not Named After a Main Character”

Sam Lake also talks about what he'd like to see in Alan Wake 2.

Recently, Remedy Entertainment writer Sam Lake of Max Payne and Alan Wake fame took to Reddit in an AMA session with users. One of the more interesting answers provides a little wrinkle into the puzzle that is Remedy’s latest revealed title Quantum Break.

On being asked whether Quantum Break was to be named like previous Remedy game – wherein the name of the game was the same as the main character’s name – Lake simply responded, “Yes, but there is a very good, logical reason why we didn’t.”

This could be for a number of reasons, but as of now, it’s all just conjecture and speculation at this point.

On the flip side, Lake also shared what he learned from working on Alan Wake and what he’d do differently if there was a sequel. “In this line of work, you never stop learning. Each project teaches you a lot. And I hope that each new one is better in some ways than the previous one. For AW2, there would definitely be less dark forests and more gameplay variety.”
