Battle royale is the big new craze in multiplayer titles these days, thanks to the initial success of PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, which was built upon even further with Epic Games’ Fortnite. Now, we are seeing more and mores games trying to hop aboard the battle royale train—but one popular multiplayer game, at the very least, will be sitting the party out.
That popular game is Rainbow Six: Siege, which stands as one of the most successful multiplayer shooters of the generation. According to Craig Robinson, a community manager for Ubisoft, the very idea of a battle royale mode in Siege is “f**king absurd”, which he said in as many words on Twitter in response to a fan’s question.
Which means, if you want a battle royale game from Ubisoft, Siege is not your best bet—it looks like that game might continue its pure multiplayer shooter emphasis, meaning battle royale fans will have to wait for some ofther Ubisoft game for the publisher’s take on the genre.
