Rainbow Six Siege Concurrent Player Count Hits Record High on Steam

A peak concurrent player count of 176,208 players was reported as of last night.

Rainbow Six Siege is a little over two years old at this point but it’s still doing well in terms of popularity. In fact, with the release of Operation Chimera and its special co-op Outbreak event, concurrent player counts have sky-rocketed.

Steam Spy notes that the new peak concurrent player count as of last night is 176,208 players. The player count has effectively tripled over the last six months on Steam alone and beats the last peak concurrent player count of 125,133 in February. Keep in mind that’s only for Steam. The number of players on Uplay, Xbox One and PS4 is still unknown.

Rainbow Six Siege’s Operation Chimera added two new Operators and the limited time Outbreak mode has three maps which can be played with a variety of heroes. You don’t need the Season 3 Pass to participate though the mode will conclude on April 3rd.

New Outbreak Collection Packs are available to earn in-game with over 50 new cosmetic items to unlock and no possibility of duplicates. That being said, you can purchase more Outbreak Packs for real money which many players are less than happy about. What are your thoughts on the event? Let us know below.
