Ubisoft’s Rainbow Six: Siege will be kicking off its second year of free content with Operation Velvet Shell. Like previous DLC, it introduces two new Operatives and a brand new map for players. The developer has also confirmed a release date for Operation Velvet Shell – it’s out on February 7th for Xbox One, PS4 and PC.
The new map is called Coastline and takes place in a nightclub in Ibiza. We also learned more about one of the new Operators, codenamed Jackal. No other information was shared about the second Operator but you can expect to hear more during the competitive tournament taking place this weekend for Siege.
It’s worth noting that though the map will be free for all players, the new Operators have to purchased in-game using Renown. Those who own the Season Pass for Year Two will obtain access for free and earlier before non-Season Pass holders.
If that weren’t enough, Rainbow Six: Siege will have a free weekend of play across all platforms from February 2nd to 5th.
