Ubisoft announced a number of different things for Rainbow Six: Siege, its popular tactical PvP shooter that’s managed quite the comeback in the past year. It noted that with the new DLC season starting on March 3rd, all 20 base Operators would be unlocked from the start. As for the Starter Edition, it will provide players with six Operators as opposed to four but all versions will make every attachment, present and future, available immediately.
Rainbow Six: Siege will also be receiving a new mode in Year 3 called Pick and Ban. This lets the two opposing teams ban two Operators from each match (not unlike the systems seen in MOBAs like Dota 2 and League of Legends). It will start as a Custom Game type and may head to public matchmaking if all goes well.
Finally, maps will be receiving changes, the smaller ones call “buffs”. For instance, Clubhouse may have an additional room between Bedroom and Cash Room. A larger scale set of changes will be coming to Hereford will the layout being changed completely. It will even have a new look altogether.
