Microsoft continues adding more Xbox 360 and original Xbox games to the list of ones that are playable on the Xbox One. However, it must also be noted that especially as far as Xbox 360 goes, they already have most of the big hits, the most beloved classic games from that console’s library, playable on the Xbox One. Which is to say, a lot of times now, their new additions don’t feel as significant as they did before, such as when the entire Crysis series became playable on the console in one go.
For me, that’s what the newest batch of games that has been made backward compatible feels like. Microsoft’s Larry “Major Nelson” Hyrb announced on Twitter today that the newest batch of backward compatible games on the Xbox One will be Rayman: Raving Rabbids, Fuel, and Battlestations Pacific.
Fuel is kind of a cult classic, and Rayman: Raving Rabbids is notable for having kickstarted the Rabbids IP for Ubisoft, but really, none of these three are great games. That said, if you enjoyed any of them, now you can play them on the Xbox One, and you can play them for free as long as you still have your copy. That’s still awesome, and Sony and Nintendo could take notes from Microsoft.
