Red Dead Redemption 2 Nears 43 Million Units Sold

It's also the second best-selling title in the US for the past three years based on dollar sales. Total sales for the series have also crossed 65 million.

While Grand Theft Auto 5 has notched up over 160 million units sold since its initial launch, one can’t discount the success of Red Dead Redemption 2. Publisher Take Two Interactive revealed in its third quarter 2022 earnings that the open world title has sold nearly 43 million units so far. It originally launched in October 2018 for PS4 and Xbox One before coming to PC and Stadia in 2019.

Citing The NPD Group’s data, it was also confirmed as the second best-selling title in the United States in the past three years based on dollar sales. Total sales for the series thus far has crossed 65 million units worldwide.

Though Red Dead Online hasn’t reached the same heights of success as GTA Online, Red Dead Redemption 2 has garnered tons of critical acclaim and multiple Game of the Year awards.
