We reported last month that September would see hands-on previews for Red Dead Redemption 2 coming in- and come in they have, bringing with them plenty of juicy new information on Rockstar’s upcoming hugely anticipated mammoth open world game. And one of the most interesting bits of information we have received is that the game will launch with a full-featured first person mode as well.
IGN reports that the game will be completely playable in first person mode, similar to what Rockstar did with the PC and PS4/Xbox One release of Grand Theft Auto V. Other than cutscenes – of course – you can play all of Red Dead Redemption 2 as a first person game.
Which is truly exciting news. Red Dead Redemption 2’s world looks incredibly interactive and immersive, and being able to experience that from a first person perspective is an enticing prospect. And if nothing else, it’s always good to have more options. Additionally, it also seems like Red Dead Redemption 2 is going to have a customizable HUD, so if you’re looking to go for complete immersion and want to play with no HUD whatsoever, you will absolutely have the option to do so.
Recently, Rockstar revealed tons of new information on several in-game locations, as well as the game’s huge and varied cast of characters. Meanwhile, on the online front, they also announced Red Dead Online, which will initially be launching as an open beta a month after the game’s launch.
Red Dead Redemption 2 launches for the PS4 and Xbox One on October 26.
