Sometime next year, probably by April 2021 if some recent leaks are accurate, we will get Capcom’s next game in their crown jewel horror franchise, Resident Evil Village. The eighth mainline title in the series will once again return to the first person perspective and follow Ethan in mysterious and dangerous village. It’ll also feature series regular Chris Redfield in what appears to be a more sinister role. It also seems he got a beastly new piece of art, too.
The game was given a new piece of official art on the Steam app. The picture is tiny, but Twitter user Dusk Golem managed to blow it up to a better size. It’s not that different, and is a take on the image on our banner above, but it fuses Chris with one of the werewolf like creatures we’ve seen in Village footage. It could be hinting that Chris has been infected, maybe explaining his more villainous actions. Of course, it could just be a neat piece of art that doesn’t mean to invoke anything in the game. Capcom has also teased Chris turning into a villain multiple times to end up being misleading, so most likely everything is not as it seems.
Resident Evil Village is set to release at some point in 2021 for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S and PC. A PS4 and Xbox One version is also looking possible, but neither has been confirmed as of yet.
