Rocket League Switch Version Gets Update Adding “Graphics Quality Mode”, Video Recording, and More

Improvements across the board.

Psyonix has announced a brand new update for the Nintendo Switch version of their perennially popular car soccer game, Rocket League—the new update is called the Tournament Update, and while it hits all platforms, there are a whole lot of Switch specific updates and improvements to look forward to.

First, a brand new graphical setting will be added. It will be called Video Quality, and it will prioritize graphics effects and resolution, while capping the frame rate at 30fps. To play the game at 60fps, select Performance Mode, which will be analogous to what you have on the Switch right now—except that, too, will see improvements across the board, with shadows and effects added back, and target resolutions now being 720p in handheld, and 900p in docked modes.

Finally, video recording will also be enabled for the Switch version of the game, allowing Switch owners to record the last 30 seconds of their gameplay at any time by holding down the Share button. So, that sounds like a great update all around. Rocket League is out now on PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC.
