One of the most highly anticipated indie releases of the year, Sea of Stars, is set to launch in a week’s time for PC and consoles, and though at launch it will be an exclusively digital release on all platforms, console players will also have the chance to get a physical copy of the retro RPG a few months down the road.
The same was recently announced by developer Sabotage Studio. In a recently published tweet, the studio revealed that it is partnering with iam8bit and will be releasing a physical edition of Sea of Stars sometime in early 2024. An exact release date is currently unknown, though the image accompanying the announcement confirms that physical versions will release for PS5, Xbox Series X, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. Whether a PS4 physical version will also be coming is currently unconfirmed.
Sea of Stars launches on August 29 for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC, and will also be available via Game Pass and PlayStation Plus Extra/Premium upon release. The game will also be fully optimized for the Steam Deck at launch. A free demo is available on all platforms.
