Sega Has “No Plans” To Bring Yakuza Games To Xbox One

I felt a great disturbance in the Force, as if millions of voices suddenly cried out in terror and were suddenly silenced.

Yakuza used to be PlayStation exclusive, but has been branching out a bit in the last few years. The original games got a release on the Wii U in Japan, and Yakuza 0 and Yakuza Kiwami have both been released on PC too. Since Sega has previously mused about bringing Yakuza to Xbox One, are there any plans to actually do that any time soon?

If the Sega Europe Twitter account is to be believed, no, there are no such plans. Responding to a fan’s question about bringing the Yakuza games to Xbox, they responded by saying, in no uncertain terms, that there are “no plans” to bring Yakuza to Xbox. Which means that for now, if you do want to play the games, you play them on PlayStation or PC.

But who knows, with Microsoft apparently making a renewed push to get Japanese content on Xbox going forward, maybe we could see this change, and see Yakuza launching on the Xbox Scarlett in the future.
