Sega’s Game Profits Rise 30%

Persona 5 noted as a key performer.

Sega as a game maker has seen better times, but over the last few years, it has started to get its act back together in order. Last year was especially good for the once revered publisher, with the launch of games such as Persona 5 and Sonic Mania bringing them back into the limelight worldwide.

It seems that their steady work at rehabilitating their lineup and image has been paying off for them, too, because their game related profits appear to have risen by 30% last year. This ended up happening in spite of Sega launching fewer games than it had planned to launch, too- Persona 5 was noted as a specially strong performer here, with Sega noting sales of over 2 million units worldwide for the stylish turn based RPG.

Going into this year, Sega has several major releases- Valkyria Chronicles 4, as well as the Sega Genesis Classic Mini, not to mention Shenmue 1 and 2 HD. Hopefully this is also a good year for them.
