Shin Megami Tensei 5: Vengeance Has Reportedly Been Rated in Korea

Previous leaks have claimed that Atlus has an expanded version of the RPG in the works that it intends to release as a multiplatform title.

Since its launch a little over two years ago, Shin Megami Tensei 5 has remained exclusive to the Nintendo Switch. Rumours have repeatedly insisted, however, that Atlus’ acclaimed RPG is also headed to additional platforms, something that wouldn’t be surprising given the company’s newfound appreciation for multiplatform releases, and more evidence has seemingly emerged to point to the same.

As reported by Gematsu, classification rating for Shin Megami Tensei 5: Vengeance recently went up on the Game Rating and Administration Committee of Korea’s website. The rating was taking down promptly after it was discovered, but you can view a screenshot of it below (courtesy of ResetEra).

Though some might assume that this is a sequel to the acclaimed Switch RPG similar to how Shin Megami Tensei 4: Apocalypse followed up on SMT 4, but as per Gematsu, the rating suggests Vengeance is an expanded re-release of the game, featuring new content as well as improvements to the base experience.

Recent leaks have claimed that a Nintendo Direct Partner Showcase is planned for this week, which could potentially serve as the stage for Shin Megami Tensei 5: Vengeance’s announcement.

In our review of SMT 5, we awarded it a score of 9/10, saying, “A staggering scope of ambition paired with a frankly absurd amount of mechanical depth make Shin Megami Tensei 5 one of the most impressive role playing games ever, and a must play for any and all fans of the genre.” Read the full review through here.
