Silent Hill Reveal “May Be Sooner” Than Expected – Rumor

VGC's Andy Robinson has recently heard from "several people" that a reveal for the horror series could be happening sooner than reported.

Konami has confirmed its presence at Tokyo Game Show 2022 where it will reveal a new game in “world-loved series.” While one could hope that it’s the rumored revival of Silent Hill, Castlevania or Metal Gear Solid, sources told VGC’s Andy Robinson that it’s likely related to a smaller project. It was also understood that the big announcements were being saved for larger scale events like PlayStation’s State of Play or The Game Awards.

However, Robinson provided an update for the same on Twitter, noting that a Silent Hill reveal may be “sooner than I suggested in my story.” “I’ve now heard from several people that a Silent Hill reveal maybe sooner than I suggested in my story today. As with all reporting on timings, I wouldn’t take that as gospel, but fans possibly won’t have to wait much longer.”

Of course, given the number of rumors circulated over the years about a reveal, there’s still plenty of scepticism. Also, which Silent Hill is being revealed? Is it the rumored remake of Silent Hill 2 from Bloober Team, which is apparently timed exclusive for PlayStation consoles and PC? Could it be the alleged episodic series from Annapurna Interactive? A new mainline title?

Time will tell so stay tuned for more details, whether at the Tokyo Game Show on September 15th to 18th or at Sony’s rumored PlayStation Showcase on September 8th.
