SimCity beta testers will be banned if they don’t report bugs they encounter

Is it time to get outraged?

If you are someone who thinks beta is a demo, then think again, because in EA’s terms of service it is explicitly mentioned that if they catch you ignoring the bugs that were encountered you could suffer an Origin-wide ban.

EA has mentioned that candidates have to take their jobs seriously instead of just wasting time. I can understand what they are trying to say here but threatening them with a ban is going too far. I’m not trying to create controversy for controversy’s sake but here’s what’s written in their TOS.

“It is understood and agreed that, as part of your participation in the Beta Program, it is your responsibility to report all known bugs, abuse of ‘bugs’, ‘undocumented features’ or other defects and problems related to the Game and Beta Software to EA as soon as they are found (‘Bugs’). If you know about a Bug or have heard about a Bug and fail to report the Bug to EA, we reserve the right to treat you no differently from someone who abuses the Bug. You acknowledge that EA reserve the right to lock anyone caught abusing a Bug out of all EA products.”
