Skate Trailer Shows Pre-Pre-Alpha Gameplay, Console Playtests Coming This Fall

Full Circle and EA's free-to-play reboot of the beloved skateboarding franchise is still without a release date.

We’ve been waiting for a new Skate game for years, and though that wait is still dragging on, we’re at least making tangible progress on the road to its release. EA and Full Circle’s free-to-play Skate reboot was unveiled as far back as 2024, and as previously confirmed, recently at Summer Game Fest, we got another brief look at the game.

After a (genuinely amusing) skit about the totally-not-evil M-Corp, a brief trailer was showcased for the game, showcasing pre-pre-alpha gameplay footage. It’s not much, but for starved fans, it’s something, at the very least, with glimpses showcased of various skateboarders performing different tricks as they skate their way up a building. Check it out below.

Meanwhile, the game’s console playtests, which were promised some time back, have also been officially confirmed. EA has announced that Skate will get its first playtest on consoles at some point this fall. Sign ups are available now via the game’s official website.
