Sledgehammer Games has just got off working on the latest entry in the CoD franchise, Modern Warfare 3. They’re looking for new people to work on a new “unannounced high-end console title”, which is obviously their next CoD title, to handle online modes, maps and community features.
“We are actively recruiting top talent for our Call of Duty development team,” a job advertisement for a senior online engineer reads. “If you are passionate and driven to do your best work, and have a desire to work on the most successful FPS franchise in the history of video games, please apply online.”
“Sledgehammer Games is looking for an exceptional online engineer to help bring our online experience to a new level,” the job description reads. “The candidate will be involved in the creation of multiplayer game modes and online community features for an unannounced high-end console title.
So- could they already be at work on Modern Warfare 4 with Infinity Ward? Or is it the third person action/adventure Call of Duty title they were working on? Sledgehammer boss Glen Schofield did say they would probably cancel the latter, but Sledgehammer has expressed interest in the game time and again.
Next year, though, is reserved for Treyarch’s Call of Duty iteration, which we believe (and hope) will be Black Ops 2, sequel to 2010’s awesome Cold War-based conspiracy shooter.
