Sonic Frontiers was one of the games Sega brought to Tokyo Game Show 2022, and with the open world (or open zone, as Sega likes to call it) platformer launching in a few weeks’ time, more details on it are continuously emerging. It also seems like the game’s resolution and frame rate targets for various platforms have been revealed.
As per @tadanohi on Twitter, the developers of Sonic Frontiers have revealed that the game will run at 4K and 30 FPS on the PS5, while it will also have a 1080p and 60 FPS option on the console. Presumably, we can expect the same from the Xbox Series X/S version. On PS4, meanwhile, the game will apparently run at 1080p and 30 FPS (again, the Xbox One version will probably target the same). On the Nintendo Switch, meanwhile, the game will allegedly run at 720p and 30 FPS- there’s no word on whether the figures will be different in docked and undocked modes.
Of course, it’s worth keeping in mind that these targets haven’t yet been officially confirmed by Sega.
Sonic Frontiers launches for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, Xbox One, and PC on November 8.
