Sony Announces Full PS Classic Lineup, Includes Metal Gear Solid, Resident Evil, Final Fantasy 7, and More

Grand Theft Auto, Revelations: Persona, and Rayman are also part of the 20 games-strong lineup.

A little over a month after first announcing the PlayStation Classic mini-console, Sony have now announced the full lineup of games that will come pre-loaded on the system. As confirmed earlier, there will be twenty games in total, and in addition to the few that we already knew about, such as Final Fantasy 7, Wild Arms, and Tekken 3, there’s a lot of other very interesting stuff as well.

Perhaps the most notable of the announced games is the first Metal Gear Solid, while there are also a few other major high profile titles, including the likes of Resident Evil Director’s Cut, the very first Grand Theft AutoOddworld: Abe’s Oddysee, and Tomb Clancy’s Rainbow Six.

There’s a few big first party Sony games as well. Syphon Filter is probably the one that seems most exciting, though Twisted Metal is no slouch either. Meanwhile, the likes of Destruction Derby and Ridge Racer Type 4 should also prove to be exciting additions for a number of people. Here’s the full list:

  • Battle Arena Toshinden
  • Cool Boarders 2
  • Destruction Derby
  • Final Fantasy VII
  • Grand Theft Auto
  • Intelligent Qube
  • Jumping Flash!
  • Metal Gear Solid
  • Mr. Driller
  • Oddworld: Abe’s Oddysee
  • Rayman
  • Resident Evil Director’s Cut
  • Revelations: Persona
  • Ridge Racer Type 4
  • Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo
  • Syphon Filter
  • Tekken 3
  • Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six
  • Twisted Metal
  • Wild Arms

That’s a very solid lineup of games, and I imagine they’ll drive sales for the PS Classic a great deal, as analysts have predicted as well. Do remember though, this lineup doesn’t apply to every region in the world- Japanese versions of the PS Classic will come with different lineup of games.
