A lot of games have been delayed to 2015. The Order 1886, The Witcher 3, Hellraid, Dying Light and a ton of other games have missed their 2014 deadlines and the all important holiday season. Sony have some decent games later this year but it can’t really be termed as AAA line up and it’s a bit odd considering the PS4 is leading the console race so far.
So does the lack of AAA games hamper the PlayStation 4’s growth? Sony’s Jim Ryan does not think so. “Not at all. We have The Last of Us: Remastered this summer, and Destiny in early September and then everything will accelerate with FIFA, Call of Duty, Battlefield, Assassin’s Creed, Far Cry, DriveClub … and the list goes on, there is no reason to worry,” he said in an interview with GameKult.
“I forgot to mention LittleBigPlanet 3, inFamous First Light, SingStar … Moreover, much of the games from third-party publishers come with exclusive content and access, so I am not worried.”
On the other hand Microsoft has a rather strong line up this holiday with Halo: Master Chief Collection, Forza Horizon 2 and Sunset Overdrive. Now that Microsoft has a similar offering to Sony as far as console pricing goes, it will be interesting to see how these consoles go head to head sales wise.
