Square Enix may very much be suffering these days, if their latest fiscal quarter results are anything to go by, but at least the publisher is doing something right with Final Fantasy XV. Much more information is being shared about the game on a regular basis than before, and it actually feels like a real upcoming project rather than something that may or may not have been cancelled.
But is Square Enix really going to pull the trigger on more Final Fantasy XV games this soon? It seems so, as the company recently trademarked “A World of the VERSUS Epic”. Square Enix did mention earlier that it was interested in making more games based on the universe, and this trademark, which covers “computer game software; video game software” may seem to indicate a step in that direction.
Then again, it also covers cellphone accessories and “animated fictional stories” so it could just be a merchandising thing. For those who don’t know, Final Fantasy XV is the new name for Final Fantasy Versus XIII, and will be heading to PS4 and Xbox One in the near future.
