Star Wars Jedi: Survivor – EA is “Actively Investigating” Issues on PS5 Pro

Reports of titles producing a shimmering effect on Performance mode at 60 FPS, likely due to PSSR, have been circulating.

The PlayStation 5 Pro has been received rather well despite its high price, with several titles benefiting from features like PlayStation Super Spectral Resolution. Unfortunately, the AI upscaler is seemingly bugged for some titles, such as Respawn Entertainment’s Star Wars Jedi: Survivor. In its recent video, Digital Foundry reported shimmering when playing in Performance Mode, potentially due to PSSR’s upscaling.

The result is something that looks worse than on PS5. Though Sony hasn’t commented on or acknowledged the issue, Electronic Arts on Twitter said it’s aware of the issues and is “actively investigating” the same. There’s currently no estimated time for a fix, so stay tuned for further updates.

Other titles that are facing similar shimmering effects on the console include Bloober Team’s Silent Hill 2 remake, Activision’s Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, and EA Sports FC 25. The issue seems restricted to 60 FPS Performance modes which utilize PlayStation Super Spectral Resolution.
