Developer Eric “ConcernedApe” Barone has announced the release date for Stardew Valley‘s much-anticipated 1.6 update. Announced through a post on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), the update will be coming to the PC version of Stardew Valley on March 19.
The console and mobile versions of Stardew Valley don’t yet have a release date for the update, but Barone has stated that they will be getting the update as soon as possible after the PC release.
Barone also took some time to thank the Stardew Valley fanbase, as the game has sold more than 30 million copies, and has other things going on, including a worldwide concert tour as well as an official cookbook being in the works.
“With a new update on the horizon, a worldwide concert tour underway, an official cookbook coming soon, and now over 30 million copies sold, Stardew Valley is thriving more than ever,” said Barone. “As always, I’m eternally grateful to the players (you!) for making all of this possible.”
Update 1.6 is slated to add quite bit of new content to Stardew Valley, especially surrounding its end-game quests. Players will, for instance, be able to side with Joja throughout their time with the game and get new end-game quests. The update will also bring support for 8-player multiplayer to the PC version of the title.
While the update was originally planned to be of modest size, Barone revealed back in January that it grew much larger in scope than originally planned.
