Strategy RPG Star Renegades Shows 8 Minutes of Gameplay In New Video

An extended look at an inventive battle system.

Indie developer Massive Damage and publisher Raw Fury debuted new gameplay footage of their upcoming turn based strategy RPG Star Renegades at the IGN expo, giving an extended look at the game – more specifically, its combat – in roughly 8 minutes of footage. The impressive 2D art style also shines in the video- check it out below.

Star Renegades features emergent missions and and a Nemesis-style system – called the Adversary system – that sees enemies evolving, ranking up, and growing increasingly more capable. The reactive combat system involves combos, interrupts, and explosive attacks. Meanwhile, procedurally generated missions and evolving enemies promise to encourage multiple playthroughs. Plenty of this is shown off in the new gameplay video below.

Star Renegades is currently in development for PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC some time this year, but doesn’t yet have a specific release date nailed down. Stay tuned to GamingBolt for more updates.
