Street Fighter 5 Netcode Adjustments Coming Soon

Producer Yoshinori Ono said that more details would be shared later.

Street Fighter 5 hasn’t had the smoothest journey since launching in 2016. Lambasted for missing content and poor balance, the fighter has gained some amount of redemption with the Arcade Edition. With Street Fighter 5: Champion Edition out tomorrow though, it seems that Capcom will be making some “adjustments” to the netcode soon.

Producer Yoshinori Ono stated on Twitter that, “The team is working hard and wants to let #SFV players know that we’ll be making adjustments to the game’s netcode soon. We’ll share more details later. Thanks for the support!”

Street Fighter 5’s netcode spurred discussion recently after some mods apparently fixed a number of issues. It’s unknown what kind of adjustments are coming from the official developer but one would hope that issues with rollback and lag are addressed. We’ll have to wait and see.

Street Fighter 5: Champion Edition will be available for PS4 and PC tomorrow, and includes nearly every piece of content released for the game thus far. That means a roster of 40 characters (including Seth, who also releases tomorrow), 34 stages and more than 200 different outfits. Stay tuned for more details on its release and upcoming netcode fixes.
