Capcom made its share of waves at EVO 2015 regarding Street Fighter 5. Community manager Peter Rosas stated on the PlayStation Blog that the game will receive all the necessary balance and system changes for free (so no purchasing any other version in the future) while the post-launch DLC can be earned for free by playing the game.
“The initial release is the only disc you will ever need to own. All balance and system adjustments will be available for free. All post-launch gameplay related content will be earnable for free by playing the game.”
There will also be a number of new characters added after launch in addition to the sixteen shipping with the base game. “Post-launch, we will be adding new characters to the roster on a continuous basis, which will provide new content for players to enjoy.”
There will be two currencies in Street Fighter 5 – “Fight Money” and “Zenny”. The former is earned through gameplay while the latter can be purchased using real money. If you just want everything without having to grind for it, then the Zenny option is always available. The upcoming beta will be used to balance the two currencies out.
Street Fighter 5 is slated to released in March 2016 for PS4 and PC. What are your thoughts on the “service” plans for the game? Let us know below.
