Street Fighter 6’s Ingrid Gets Character Guide Trailer Ahead of May 28th Launch

Ingrid is equipped with several tools that allow her to generate Sun Crests, which can then be used to power up all of her abilities.

With Ingrid’s arrival to Street Fighter 6 being just a week away, Capcom has released a brand new video showcasing her abilities with the hopes of getting players ready for the newest addition to the fighting game’s roster. The video, which you can check out below, is almost 8 minutes in length and features plenty of details on Ingrid’s moveset, from her normals to her Critical Arts.

Capcom has described Ingrid as a “versatile character” that can make use of a combination of techniques and projectiles. She also has the ability to generate Sun Crests, which can then be spent to make her moves more powerful by harnessing the full power of the sun. The efficacy of moves increases proportionally to how many Sun Crests are used. While she generates the Crests, she can make use of a variety of projectiles to keep her opponents at a distance.

While equipped with a plethora of zoning techniques, Ingrid isn’t a slouch when it comes to close-range combat either. She has a simple yet effective combo that can also be further expanded by spending Sun Crests, giving her access to new moves that work well with her normal attacks.

Ingrid’s bread-and-butter projectile is the Sun Shot – a ball of light that briefly stops before launching towards the opponent. Along with its zoning capabilities, the move can also be used in close-range combos for more damage. Sun Shots can also be shot at different angles to confuse your opponent, or even just act as an anti-air defense in case the enemy decides to jump in closer.

For mid-range engagements, Ingrid has access to Sun Flare, which can shoot a beam across the entire screen if Sun Crests are expended in the process. Using the powered-up version of a Sun Flare can also open the opponent up for more rushdown combos.

One of the most interesting moves in Ingrid’s arsenal is her ability to teleport, dubbed Vanishing Sun. Using it, players can take control of the distance between themselves and the opponent. The move can be used offensively for aerial or standard attacks, or defensively to back off to a safer distance. She has access to a host of super attacks that can also benefit from expending Sun Crests to deal more damage and prolong combos.

Ingrid will be joining the Street Fighter 6 roster on May 28th. Recently, Capcom has also confirmed that the release will be accompanied by a free update that brings in new game modes that can be used to improve the capabilities of your Avatar. These modes include Random Avatar Matches and Avatar Arcade.

Random Avatar Matches is a new matchmaking system that will allow players to match up against other players in multiplayer bouts on equal footing. Avatar Arcade, on the other hand, is a single-player mode that pits you against CPU-controlled Masters, with each Master offering their own special rewards and progression track.

With Street Fighter 6‘s Year 3 DLC plan reaching its conclusion, rumors have started floating around about what Year 4 will have in store for the fighting game. One report has indicated that we might get to see Final Fantasy 7‘s Tifa Lockhart joining the roster.

Street Fighter 6 is available on PC, PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch 2.
