Resident Evil Village

The Resident Evil series has seen its fair share of remakes in the form of the stellar Resident Evil 2 and the disappointing Resident Evil 3, but it has consistently delivered high-quality follow-ups. These include Resident Evil 7 and its follow-up Village, the latter of which represent the best of what the series offers. Resident Evil Village majestically swerves from one kind of horror to the next without any hiccups, and the action keeps pace with the changing scenery and shifting mechanics. The core gameplay of shooting down zombies is much faster than Resident Evil 7, but it retains the heft and groundedness of a survival horror game that comes together to make it one of the best in its class.

It was announced earlier in the year that Gearbox would bring Bulletstorm to the Nintendo Switch. It was rather unexpected, considering the game never had a huge following and most expected Borderlands to get that spot well before Bulletstorm ever would. Regardless, that’s what we got, and they also dropped it today out of nowhere.

The game, called the Duke of Switch Edition, popped up on the Switch’s eShop. There was no announcement or tease, not as much as a lone tweet. It’s pretty weird, but the game is solid. The edition is a renamed version of the Full Clip version, which includes some enhancements and all the DLC, including one that replaces the main character with Duke Nukem, complete with full voiceover from the old school character.

Bulletstorm: Duke of Switch Edition is available now for Nintendo Switch, and you can check out its store page through here. The game is also available on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC.

Lately, Gearbox have been teasing quite a few announcements for their upcoming panel at PAX East. The most notable of these, of course, has been Borderlands 3, while another announcement separate from that has been teased as well. But clearly, they have even more stuff up their sleeves that they plan on revealing at the end of this month.

For instance, in a new update on Twitter, Gearbox put up an image from Bulletstorm: Full Clip Edition featuring one of the main characters, Ishi Sato, and Duke Nukem, who wasn’t in the original Bulletstorm, but was made playable in remastered release. The update is accompanied with the caption, “Time to tease another game for PAX!” What’s most interesting about the tease, though, that the image is a mirror image of the original picture from the game (see above), as pointed out by DualShockers. Are they possibly hinting at a Switch port with this switched image? Wouldn’t be the worst way to tease something.

This isn’t all Gearbox has teased for the Switch recently. A couple days back, they were teasing what many thought looks like a Switch port for Borderlands 2. Read more on that through here.

After an announcement that seemed a little too early, Sony has announced its free games for PlayStation Plus subscribers in November 2018. Sure enough, Yakuza Kiwami and Bulletstorm: Full Clip Edition have been confirmed for the PlayStation 4. PS3 users will get Jackbox Party Pack 2 and Arkedo Series, while PS Vita players can try Burly Men at Sea and Roundabout.

A remake of the very first Yakuza game, Yakuza Kiwami sees players taking on the role of Kazuma Kiryu. After taking the fall for a murder committed by his friend, Kiryu embarks on a quest to find his friend Yumi. Meanwhile, ten billion Yen have also gone missing from the Tojo Clan, and there’s a mad rush to find the same. Chock-full of mini-games, combat encounters, and memorable NPCs, Yakuza Kiwami is certainly worth a look.

First person shooter fans can check out Bulletstorm: Full Clip Edition. The People Can Fly-developed shooter boasts various graphical improvements and all of the previously released content in one package. There is no word yet on whether the DLC that lets you play as Duke Nukem, complete with a rewritten script, has been included.

Sony has announced two of the free games that PlayStation Plus subscribers will be getting in November. These are People Can Fly’s Bulletstorm: Full Clip Edition and Sega’s Yakuza Kiwami on PS4. Other releases for PS3 and PlayStation Vita have yet to be confirmed, but given how early it is, we’d say there’s still some time.

Bulletstorm: Full Clip Edition is actually published by Gearbox and features improved visuals for current-gen platforms, the Overkill Campaign mode, and six new Echo maps. Those who pre-ordered received access to Duke Nukem’s Bulletstorm Tour, which replaced the protagonist with Duke Nukem, complete with an entirely re-recorded script and voice lines.

Meanwhile, Sega’s Yakuza Kiwami is one of the finer exclusives of this generation. As a remake of Yakuza 1, it tells the tale of Kazuma Kiryu, who takes the fall for his friend Akira Nishikiyama and winds up in prison. The world has changed years after his release, and Kiryu finds himself embroiled with the Yakuza and Kamurocho’s bizarre denizens once again.

Featuring the cult-classic FPS experience from People Can Fly, Bulletstorm: Full Clip Edition features all the add-ons and a lot of new content. There 12 co-op challenge maps, 30 solo Echo challenge maps and a new Overkill Campaign mode for letting loose with all possible weapons and Skillshots.

Anarchy Mode allows you to level up, unlock new Leash styles and weapon skins while playing alongside a team across 12 maps and against 20 waves of foes.

You can also look forward to improved visuals, animations, 4K resolution support on the PS4 Pro and PC and a better frame rate. If that weren’t enough, it’s possible to play as Duke Nukem in the campaign with a tailor-made script and Jon St. John as the voice of Duke himself.

The original Bulletstorm was a bit of a gem, but not one that many people were exposed to. It’s getting a second chance at mainstream success, however, with the upcoming Gearbox published Bulletstorm: Full Clip Edition, an enhanced remaster of the original game for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.

Speaking with DualShockers, Gearbox Publishing PR manager Vincent Slaven said that if this remaster were to be successful, there’s no reason that would be end of the line for the IP- the studio People Can Fly definitely seems to want to do more with the franchise, and if the market proves to be more receptive towards the over the top, ultra violent gameplay of the game this time around, a sequel could definitely happen.

This means that if you want a Bulletstorm 2, you best purchase this new game- you might not get a third chance after being given this second one. Bulletstorm: Full Clip Edition releases for PS4, Xbox One, and PC on April 7th, 2017.

Bulletstorm: Full Clip Edition, the remaster of the Xbox 360/PS3 shooter Bulletstorm, is almost here0 and ahead of its release, Gearbox have shared a brand new trailer for the game, that showcases the game’s (ridiculous and over the top) story, as well as its (equally ridiculous and over the top) gameplay, in glorious, full 4K.

If you ever played the original, you know what to expect- ultra violent gameplay, with glorious, gory finishing moves and genius use of the environment. It was an imaginative shooter that never got its due- maybe this remaster can give it its second chance to shine.

Bulletstorm: Full Clip Edition surprised quite a few of us when it was showcased at The Game Awards recently. The game is a remaster of the underrated FPS from People Can Fly and Epic Games but unlike some remasters – like Skyrim Special Edition or Darksiders: Warmastered Edition – base game owners won’t be getting it for free.

Gearbox CEO Randy Pitchford said on Twitter that giving it away wouldn’t be possible because “Completely different publisher, era, platform (they were Games for Windows only), product/sku, etc.”

When one fan pointed out the case behind Darksiders: Warmastered Edition, which was a THQ game and then remastered under THQ Nordic, Pitchford said, “Different case. New owners of Darksiders captured all past/present/future rights. We’re just publishing someone else’s game.”

Finally, he noted that with regards to there being any discounts, “If that is a deal breaker for you, you should skip it.”

Bulletstorm: Full Clip Edition is out on April 7th 2017 for Xbox One, PS4 and PC.
