Amplitude Studios’ latest expansion for Endless Space 2 is out now with Awakening and it brings a new faction to shake things up. The Nakalim were once a large empire that fell into ruin. However, now that they’ve awakened, it could be that their old deities, The Lost, could be returning.

The Nakalim are explorers at heart and receive a big head start in Technology. Science is their weakness so you need to find Relics to acquire new technologies. The Academy is also now an Empire and the Nakalim can work with them to convert other systems and gain rewards. You can also interact with the Academy’s leader Isyander directly.

Four new heroes, four new Academy roles, a new minor faction (the Xirmisala) and more have also been added with Awakening. Check it out today for $12.99 on Steam. Amplitude is also working on Humankind, a 4X style game rooted in real world civilizations but which allows players to mix and match traits to forge their own civilization. It’s out in 2020 for PC.

Amplitude Studios’ Endless universe has been built up quite extensively over the years. Whether it’s the 4X machinations of Endless Space or the rogue-lite quirks of Dungeon of the Endless, there’s quite a lot to go through. The entire franchise is on sale this weekend, but you can also try any of the games for free until January 28th, 7 AM PT.

The games in question include Endless Legend, a 4X title with stunning art-work and compelling factions. Then there’s Endless Space 2, a 4X space expansion title that builds significantly on the first game. Finally, we have Dungeon of the Endless, which mixes way too many genres to count (more about that here).

If any of these titles catch your fancy, then you can pick them up for pretty deep discounts on Steam (and even snag the Endless Space Collection for cheap). Amplitude continues to release new expansions for Endless Space 2 and Endless Legend. The former has received Penumbra, which brings the hack-tastic Umbral Choir to the universe, while the latter receives Symbiosis with its assimilating Mykara.

Amplitude Studios’ Endless Space 2 is now available on PC via Steam. The game was originally accessible on Steam Early Access and the “complete” version is now available to play. Check out the launch trailer below.

Endless Space 2 is another game Amplitude’s acclaimed Endless series but one that focuses on 4X strategy. Players will need to eXplore, eXpand, eXploit and eXterminate to establish their foothold in the universe.

Creative director Romain de Genlis commemorated the launch by stating, “Crafting Endless Space 2 has been a long and rewarding journey. As always, our community has been an outstanding and creative partner in the game’s development, and it has been such an honor to be able to implement an entire civilization into the game that was designed by them.”

You can pick up the regular edition for $40 or the Digital Deluxe Edition for $50, the latter including the original soundtrack, a ship skin and two Academy heroes.
