Zynga has confirmed that its NaturalMotion studio is conducting a limited-time test for an untitled Borderlands mobile game.

It looks like Zynga, along with Gearbox, has been working on a new Borderlands mobile project. Zynga has confirmed that its NaturalMotion studio has been looking into ways to bring the looter shooter franchise to new audiences, which currently involves a limited-time test for Borderlands on smartphones. In a statement to GamesRadar, the company has confirmed that, while it handled the main development work, Gearbox provided creative guidance on aspects like the design, history, and lore of Borderlands.

“We are always exploring ways to introduce Borderlands to new audiences,” said Zynga in its statement. “Zynga’s NaturalMotion studio is currently conducting a limited-time test for an untitled Borderlands mobile project, with Gearbox providing creative guidance on the franchise’s design, history, and lore. We hope that players enjoy this new Borderlands experience and look forward to their feedback.”

Speculation on a mobile version of Borderlands first started popping up thanks to an App Store listing for Borderlands Mobile. Available only on iPhone, the free-to-play shooter’s listing confirms that it is being developed by Zynga. Its description also noted that it features “devastating action gameplay that’s been fully optimized for mobile,” as well as a similar gameplay loop to the console and PC Borderlands games, where players take on missions to fight enemies in the hopes of getting brand new loot.

The lack of any fanfare in the release of Borderlands Mobile has also indicated that Zynga opted for a soft launch of the title, releasing it in limited territories on specific platforms to ensure early adopters could get plenty of time to test the game and offer feedback. Through this, the company can then make changes to the game before it is launched to a wider global audience.

This has also led to gameplay videos popping up on YouTube, showcasing just how Borderlands Mobile plays. As can be seen below in Techzamazing’s video, an introductory cutscene provides some quick context for players that might be new to the Borderlands franchise. It doesn’t take long for gameplay to begin, however, and Borderlands Mobile retains the franchise’s fast-paced FPS action.

Zynga working with Gearbox Entertainment to bring Borderlands to mobile platforms shouldn’t come as a big surprise, since the CEO of parent company Take-Two Interactive, Strauss Zelnick, had spoken about using Zynga’s expertise to bring “core” IPs to mobile platforms back in 2022.

Following an acquisition valued at $12.7 billion, Zelnick noted that Zynga would work with other studios under the Take-Two banner to bring franchises like Red Dead, GTA, Borderlands, and NBA 2K, among others, to mobile platforms. This, he noted, would help with bringing the franchises to wider audiences that don’t otherwise exist on PC and consoles.

“We believe we have the best collection of console and PC intellectual property in the interactive entertainment business and it’s basically nearly entirely un-exploited from mobile and free-to-play around the world. Zynga’s best-in-class studios can help us develop that property,” he said.

“Their best-in-class free-to-play mobile publishing operations can bring that to consumers, delight those consumers and create recurrent consumer spending along the way. The list is endless and it’s early days. We’re just thrilled to have this opportunity to be able to work together and create what we’re certain will be of extraordinary value going forward.”

Zooming in at sales figures for just December, Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 took the crown, with Battlefield 6 instead being ranked at third.

Alongside having revealed that the Nintendo Switch 2 has been selling at a faster pace than the PS4 did in its launch year, Circana Analyst Mat Piscatella has also revealed software sales details for the year as well as the month of December. Battlefield 6 took the crown in game sales, topping the chart for the entire year. The multiplayer shooter was followed by NBA 2K26 in second place, Borderlands 4 in third place, and Monster Hunter Wilds in fourth place. Among the older titles in the best-sellers list were Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 at tenth place, Minecraft at 13th place, Forza Horizon 5 at 16, and Grand Theft Auto 5 at 20.

Taking a closer look at software sales for the month of December, Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 took the lead, with Battlefield 6 being ranked third. Other titles in the best-seller charts for the month are a mix of newer games like Donkey Kong Bananza and older titles like Grand Theft Auto 5, Minecraft and Red Dead Redemption 2.

While other console makers might have started struggling with console sales last year, Nintendo has been doing quite well with the release of the Switch 2. Piscatella had confirmed, the Switch 2 ended up being the best-selling console of the year in the US, with the country accounting for 4.4 million units. Along with this, the new console is also noted as selling faster than the original Switch from back in 2017.

As he noted, the Switch 2’s hardware sales single-handedly managed to offset industry-wide downward trends in console hardware sales. Sony’s PS5 ranked second for the period. The Switch 2 has also been described by Piscatella as being the “fastest selling video game console hardware platform” in history so far.

While things might be going well for Nintendo for the time being, research firm Niko Partners has predicted that the company will end up raising the price of the Switch 2 thanks to the worldwide memory shortages affecting manufacturing. The firm noted that, while the Switch 2 is priced competitively when compared to PS5 and Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo might have to bring its latest console in line with its competitors to maintain profitability.

In the meantime, Battlefield Studios has been working hard on creating and testing more content for the upcoming second season of Battlefield 6. While it hasn’t yet revealed too many details aside from its February 17 launch date, the developers provided a few hints about what kind of content we can expect when Season 2 of Battlefield 6 is kicked off.

Among the new content coming to the game is a brand new map, dubbed Contagion, that will also feature its own unique gameplay mechanics. No details have been provided about these mechanics, aside from vague hints about players needing to use equipment to interact with them, a soldier wearing a gas mask in the teaser trailer, and the fact that the map’s name implies some sort of contagious infection will be involved.

Battlefield 6 is available on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. For more details, check out our review from back when it first came out.

However, Take-Two Interactive's Strauss Zelnick believes that, "In the fullness of time, we think it's going to do great."

Six years and massive amounts of hype apparently couldn’t translate to the kind of success that Take-Two Interactive had in mind for Borderlands 4. Released on September 12th, you’ll notice the lack of any sales numbers in the company’s latest fiscal quarter report. Instead, its Metacritic score of 82 is noted (which is also only the second-highest in the series).

According to Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick, while speaking to The Game Business, the figures were “a little softer” than the company would have liked. “The critical acclaim was superb, and we’re really happy with the release,” he assured.

However, it seems troubles with the PC release didn’t escape the publisher’s notice. “Equally, as you know, there were some challenges with the Steam release. [Developer] Gearbox has been addressing those challenges and will continue to do so. So, in terms of units sold out of the gate, the numbers were a little softer than we would have liked. In the fullness of time, we think it’s going to do great.”

Considering that Gearbox CEO Randy Pitchford said the series would break “100 million units with this launch, easy,” it may be somewhat disheartening to still see it remain at 99 million sales (especially with a budget more than double of Borderlands 3). The looter shooter reportedly sold two million units in its first week, but performance issues quickly dominated the conversation, including Pitchford telling unhappy PC players to seek refunds.

Nevertheless, it’s only the start of the new Borderlands journey with the first big content drop, Rush Saves Mercenary Day, going live on November 20th. The first story DLC pack, Mad Ellie and the Vault of the Damned, will release in Q1 2026 and adds a new Vault Hunter, C4SH.

Unlock the endgame difficulty levels of Ultimate Vault Hunter Mode with this spoiler-free guide for Borderlands 4.

Ultimate Vault Hunter Mode ramps up the difficulty and the rewards as it serves as the endgame in Borderlands 4. While totally optional, it does require some work to unlock in the first place, not to mention grinding through its content for even higher ranks.

This Borderlands 4 guide explains the steps necessary to unlock the Ultimate Vault Hunter Mode and its five ranks.

Unlock Ultimate Vault Hunter Mode

Completion of the campaign is the absolute first step, followed by a series of quests which you will pick up by speaking with Lilith at the bar in Moxxi’s Bottoms Up! station located in the Ruined Sumplands of Carcadia Burn.

After the first Ultimate Vault Hunter: Wildcard mission from her, you will automatically activate the lowest level of Ultimate Vault Hunter Mode beginning at level one.

Raising or lowering the difficulty can be accomplished at will via Session Settings in the Main Menu.

Subsequent levels are unlocked in the same manner: a series of four Ultimate Vault Hunter challenges, capped off with a new Wildcard mission, but you must play them on the highest possible preceding difficulty unlocked at the time.

The final Ultimate Vault Hunter Mode difficulty level is rank five.

Ultimate Vault Hunter Mode Mechanics

Enemy health, damage received, and XP will scale up with each rank. Cash, Eridium, and general loot drop quality will also increase significantly.

That is everything you need to know in order to unlock Ultimate Vault Hunter Mode in Borderlands 4.

Amass loads of the SDU tokens needed for increasing carrying capacity with this guide to grinding for them quickly and efficiently in Borderlands 4.

Like its predecessors, Borderlands 4 is a game overflowing with an assortment of weapons, and you will have great difficulty lugging around all of your favorites at once with the initially limited inventory space. Fortunately both your Backpack and Bank slots can be increased by spending tokens in the Storage Deck Upgrade (SDU) menu, not to mention increasing ammunition capacity for the major gun groups and adding more slots to the Lost Loot machine for the pickups you fail to collect.

This Borderlands 4 guide has everything you need to know in order to farm SDU tokens, and maximize your carrying capacity.

Safehouses

Earn a flat 40 SDU tokens for unlocking each of the 14 Safehouses to be found scattered across the map. This activity is worth a total of 560 SDU tokens

Silos

Earn another flat 40 SDU tokens for unlocking each of the 9 Silos on the outer rim of Kairos. This activity is worth a total of 360 SDU tokens

Drill Sites

The initial clearing of each of the 6 Drill Sites around Kairos will earn you 40 SDU tokens apiece. This activity is worth a total of 240 SDU tokens

Augur Mines

The first clearing of each of the 7 Auger Mines spread across Kairos will also earn you 40 SDU tokens apiece. This activity is worth a total of 280 SDU tokens

Order Bunkers

The initial clearing of each of the 6 Order Bunkers situated all over Kairos will earn you 40 SDU tokens apiece. This activity is worth a total of 240 SDU tokens

Crawlers

Bring a battery to each of the 11 Crawlers abandoned across Kairos in order to earn 40 SDU tokens apiece. This activity is worth a total of 440 SDU tokens

Propaganda Speaker

Survive the enemy waves after activating these Propaganda Speaker towers and gain 20 SDU tokens for your trouble each time.

Evocarium

Complete each of the 18 Evocarium platforming challenges to earn 15 SDU tokens every time. This activity is worth a total of 270 SDU tokens

Loot Capsules

Return any Loot Capsules you stumble upon across Kairos, to Capsule Capturer vending machines for decryption and recover 15 SDU tokens each time.

Electi Safes

A somewhat meager 10 SDU tokens can be found for cracking open each Electi Safe you happen across.

Survivalist Caches

Loot as well as 10 SDU tokens are to be gained from random Survivalist Caches that you chance upon.

Auger Shrines

More loot and 10 SDU tokens are to be granted by Auger Shrines that you worship at, when discovered.

Vault Symbols

A paltry 5 SDU tokens will be awarded for interacting with any Vault Symbols you detect on your map.

When prioritizing the expenditure of SDU tokens, focus on your Backpack first, then Ammo capacity for your preferred weapon types. The shared loot space that is the Bank can be increased later, especially if multiple characters can contribute towards its expansion. The Lost Loot machine is a waste of SDU tokens unless you are somehow drowning in excess quantities.

Those are all the best methods for farming SDU tokens fast in Borderlands 4, so that you can expand all of your storage spaces.

Creative director Graeme Timmins noted that the studio will eventually get to fixing "unintended interactions" that are overpowered.

While loot-based RPGs often tend to see quite a few nerfs made in the days after their release to prevent things from getting too overpowered or broken, Gearbox has noted that is getting ready to make its first round of buffs for Borderlands 4. Taking to social media platform X, creative director Graeme Timmins wrote about the discussions that have been taking place about the co-op looter shooter online, with many players having discovered builds that can be considered overpowered.

He also noted that, while there are builds that make use of “unintended interactions” between different gameplay mechanics, changes to those will be happening at a later point. Rather, the studio is more focused on bringing classes and skills that are considered to be on the weaker side of things up to par before the it nerfs anything that might be considered too overpowered.

“We’ve seen the discourse about builds that use unintended interactions and/or the knife,” wrote Timmins. “We’re not going to act on those immediately, instead, we’re looking at our first round of buffs. Those will get addressed but we’re going to start with underperforming gear/skills first.”

Fans of Borderlands 4 have responded to Timmins’ post quite positively, with some even trying to be helpful by offering suggestions for changes that need to be made. One player, for example, notes that “there are a lot of dead / useless skills and guns that could use some love,” while another noted that “knife and stacked damage needs to be nerfed.”

Borderlands 4 was released on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X/S earlier this month, and has already managed to see quite a bit of success. Just last week, a report indicated that more than 2 million copies of the game had been sold so far. However, this success has also been a double-edged blade for Gearbox, since there have been many players criticising the studio for the performance issues with the game.

These criticisms reached a boiling point last week when Gearbox CEO Randy Pitchford took to social media to tell players that they should make use of technologies like DLSS to get the frame rates they desire, and that those unhappy with the game should just get a refund.

“You can do whatever you want,” wrote Pitchford at the time. “The game is the game. Please get a refund from Steam if you aren’t happy with it. You made an analogy to a vehicle. I would not put a Ferrari engine in a monster truck and expect it to drive like a Ferrari. If you tell me about your specification, I can help you optimize your performance.”

These performance issues, which also seemingly includes memory leaks on the PS5 and Xbox Series X/S versions of the game, have ultimately led the studio to announce that the Switch 2 release, which was planned for October 3, has now been pushed back to an undefined time.

Despite strong player numbers on Steam, the looter shooter's PC version is receiving flak for optimization and performance issues.

September has quickly turned into one of the busiest months in gaming, and that’s considering that the month started with Hollow Knight: Silksong, Cronos: The New Dawn, Hell is Us, Metal Eden and Daemon X Machina: Titanic Scion. The subsequent week was relatively calm, featuring only one major release – Gearbox’s Borderlands 4. Despite the attempts by CEO Randy Pitchford to chase away prospective consumers with the whole “might cost $80” controversy, the development team has done a good job building up hype.

Between the deep dives into each character’s skill trees, proper cinematic origin stories, and even a deep dive into the endgame, the overall vibe was pretty positive. Let’s ignore Pitchford saying near launch that he wants “everyone to have realistic expectations for performance” and that “lower end and older hardware may not perform as well as higher end, modern PCs.” You’ll probably remember that Borderlands 3 suffered some pretty severe performance issues when it launched. Surely Borderlands 4 couldn’t be worse, especially since it’s running on Unreal Engine 5, which is notorious for its optimisation. Right?

We arrive at launch day, and I distinctly remember Steam reviews hanging around “Mostly Negative” for the first few hours. It quickly rose to “Mixed” and has sort of hung around there since then, with 65 percent of the currently 22,931 user reviews giving it the thumbs-up.

Many of the reviews complain primarily about performance, optimization and even stability. There are those complaining that their hardware is “top of the line” except if they drop the settings to Medium (which, ironically, is what 2K’s QA team used to achieve 60 FPS on a minimum spec PC, according to Pitchford). There are crashes, freezes, stuttering, the whole works. One highly-awarded user review sums it up rather well: “Love how modern-day games can’t be bothered to be optimized anymore, and they still want $70.”

All that alone is scathing enough, but hey, 65 percent positive, right? And it even passed 300,000 peak concurrent players on Steam at this time, becoming the biggest launch for the platform in the series’ history. Clearly, those complaining are in the minority, except that percentage doesn’t tell the whole story.

However, even the most notable positive reviews warn that performance and optimization are major issues, and that you should only really pick it up if your rig can handle it. Oh, and Frame Generation is still a must.

You would think Gearbox would issue a statement, promise some updates and then work on improving things while letting the overall quality of the game speak for itself. It’s more or less doing that, even if the first update, released last Saturday, simply says it improves stability for a “wide range of PCs.

It also provided optimization guides for Nvidia and AMD GPUs while also warning that anytime the settings are changed, you need to wait for shaders to recompile, which could take up to 15 minutes. Oh, and please play for at least 15 minutes to see if performance has changed in any way. Some have even discovered that going into Nvidia’s Control Panel and increasing the shader cache size to 100 GB helps with stuttering.

But there’s no mistaking the performance issues. Even Digital Foundry, which tested the PC version on the “fastest gaming CPU that money can buy”, still faced stutters, to say nothing of all the other issues. It concluded by noting that, “This one does seem to be running worse than usual for an Unreal Engine 5 game. It is below where it seems like it should be, given how other games using this engine perform.”

But that should be it, and we’re all ready to move on as Gearbox works to improve and optimise its big meal ticket. Except, no one – not you, not me, and probably not the development team – could have accounted for the Pitchford Factor.

Fresh off of polling console players about whether they would like a field of view slider (after multiple complaints wondering why it didn’t ship by default), telling them how it could affect “fairness,” the Gearbox CEO went off on one multi-thread long…declaration, let’s call it, about many things. “Every PC gamer must accept the reality of the relationship between their hardware and what the software they are running is doing.” He went on to describe that there are many tools in place to cater to those who prefer more features, frames or a higher resolution.

“There are a few real issues, but they are affecting a very, very small percentage of users. We are fixing those, and many are already fixed.” All of this seems well enough until we get to the part about DLSS. “If you are so attached to the idea that DLSS is bad for your game experience because of something you saw or read on the internet, I am sorry. I hope instead you would use the technology designed to give you the experience you want.”

Still, he assured players that the studio would keep working and that “the more people that play, the more data we get and the easier it is to keep making improvements.” Which sounds like a weird way to encourage people to spend money and/or time on your game, but Pitchford says he knows that the reactions, both negative and positive, are coming from a place where fans “really care.”

But that should be the end of it, right? Well, like we said, that’s one multi-thread long declaration of sorts. In another post, he shared statistics from Computer Service where complaints accounted for about one percent of installs, and that only 0.04 percent are related to PC performance. About 0.009 percent were marked as “valid”

“That is less than one percent of one percent (0.01%) of customers using CS tickets for valid performance issues, which is less than 1/5 of the users using CS to get help with Twitch drops,” said Pitchford. “This reality is dramatically different from what you would expect if your only sources of information were, say, certain internet threads.”

While this may come across as dismissive, it seems in some roundabout way to actually advertise that not enough players are using Customer Support. He then went into another spiel about everyone who has real issues is someone that Gearbox “cares about,” and that these details would be a “useful perspective if you are getting your feelings from others online.” And there’s the ‘don’t believe everything you read.’

But surely, that’s it, right? Of course not. In yet another thread, Pitchford outlined all the different ways that players could see improved performance on PC before advising that they opt for 1440p at “super high” settings. “If you’re not 4K stubborn and just want to have a great, fun time with higher performance, please consider running at 1440p resolution. If you’ve got a beast of a video card, you’re probably fine at 4K. But if you’re in the middle or close to minimum spec, I would definitely recommend making that trade.”

When told that it would have been better to make the game for the “most common hardware” in the first place, he responded, “Borderlands 4 is a premium game made for premium gamers. Just as Borderlands 4 cannot run on a PlayStation 4, it cannot be expected to run on too-old PC hardware.” Then he compared it to “trying to drive a monster truck with a leaf blower’s motor,” which would result in disappointment, and advises those who can’t run the game well “by accident or wishful thinking and/or don’t want to try to mess with settings to make things good enough for you,” to just get a refund.

Oh, and before that, when told that he should try making the game look good without upscaling, Pitchford pulled the ultimate card: “Code your own engine and show us how it’s done, please. We will be your customer when you pull it off. The people doing it now are clearly dumb and don’t know what they’re doing, and all the support and recommendations and code and architecture from the world’s greatest hardware companies and tech companies working with the world’s greatest real-time graphics engine coders don’t know what you seem to know. /sarcasm” Which sounds more like passive aggressiveness, but I digress.

All in all, regardless of where you fall on this debate, there’s no denying that Borderlands 4 has some problems on PC. How long it will take to address all of them is ultimately the biggest concern. I won’t beat the dead horse that is Monster Hunter Wilds still having performance issues after all these months on PC, even if it’s running on a different engine. But there have been plenty of titles, Unreal Engine 5 or not, that simply won’t run best for everyone, regardless of how much optimization is done.

That doesn’t mean Gearbox can just stop trying, however, especially if it wants to justify that higher price tag. It’s best to wait and see, and hopefully, this doesn’t turn into a situation where shareholders are demanding answers months down the line.

Players have discovered a potential bug in bleed damage calculations, potentially resulting in multiple stacks of the same effect.

Shortly after the release of Borderlands 4, players have been discovering all kinds of builds for the new set of Vault Hunters. However, some have noted that there might be bugs related to how the co-op looter shooter calculates damage for the bleed status effect. Social media user Haderaxe showed off the status effect being incredibly powerful in a video, which had Vex kill a boss in the span of a few seconds by firing a single shot and letting bleed do the work.

Responding to this, Borderlands 4 creative director Graeme Timmins took to social media to promise that Gearbox won’t be making any knee-jerk reactionary changes to nerf certain builds or play styles. Rather, he acknowledged that the power likely came from a glitch in how the game calculates damage from bleed. He also noted that the studio had fixed similar bugs with characters Harlow and Rafa (which resulted in game crashes) before launch.

“Chill, guys, we’re not going to knee-jerk react to anything,” wrote Timmins. “That said, this looks like a bug we fixed with Harlow and Rafa before launch that could recursively cause damage and actually crash the game and/or freeze the UI. Going to investigate, could be legit stability prob [sic]”

One player noted that the issue showcased in the video likely comes from the fact that, because of the way damage from the bleed status effect is calculated, it in itself can cause additional instances of bleed on the same enemy. This largely comes down to the fact that bleed can be triggered with a critical hit, and with certain passive skills, the damage caused by bleed can also be a critical hit, in turn causing a new instance of bleed on its own. This recursive method of stacking bleed status effects on a single target is likely a bug.

Since its release just last week, Borderlands 4 has turned out to be incredibly successful. Its PC version – available on Steam – has also ended up being the biggest launch in the franchise’s history, peaking at 288,130 concurrent players over the weekend. Even this peak was eventually surpassed, and at the time of writing, Borderlands 4 sits at an all-time peak of 304,398 concurrent players, according to SteamDB.

Borderlands 2 had peaked at 125,000 concurrent players, while Borderlands 3 peaked at 93,820. While the latter was still a popular game, it was likely hindered by the fact that it spent a whole year being available exclusively on the Epic Games Store.

As for the console versions, Gearbox CEO Randy Pitchford recently took to social media to address the lack of a field of view slider on the console versions of Borderlands 4.
Borderlands 4 is available on PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. A Nintendo Switch 2 version is slated for release on October 3.
Studio CEO Randy Pitchford did note that if players get stuck on a hard boss fight, they can go to level grind before trying again.

As we get closer to the September 12 release date for co-op looter shooter Borderlands 4, Gearbox CEO Randy Pitchford has revealed that the studio is a bit nervous about the campaign being more challenging than previous titles at some points. In an interview with Insider Gaming, Pitchford spoke about how Borderlands has diverse fans, with some of them not enjoying super difficult challenges. These players, he noted, have more fun in exploring the world and enjoying the story.

“We have lots of players that actually aren’t interested in deep, hard challenges; lots of people that love just exploring the Borderlands or spending time with the characters,” he said.

With these fans in mind, Pitchford and Gearbox have been nervous about the level of challenge that Borderlands 4 might offer to players. He did note, however, that players can simply take a break from progressing through the campaign to grind out some more levels before trying a challenging boss again.

“I’m a little nervous because there are points of Borderlands 4 that are more challenging, but one of the coolest things about Borderlands 4, because of the nature of the RPG, is if anything is a little challenging for you, you can just grind somewhere and level up and become more powerful,” said Pitchford.

“You will find that things that were hard when you were a little chump will become trivial when you become a badass. But we definitely have pushed the challenges quite a lot, especially with bosses and boss fight mechanics.”

Pitchford had previously mentioned that Borderlands 4 will have some intense challenges, especially when compared to its predecessors. In a social media post by Gearbox mentioning how “nothing goes harder than Inceptus,” Pitchford responded by indicating that Borderlands 4 will indeed feature fights tougher than Inceptus.

The decision to bring in more challenging encounters was seemingly made because fans of the series had been asking the studio for harder fights. However, Gearbox has also noted that that fights won’t be too difficult, with creative director Graeme Timmins noting that the upcoming game falls closer to the “casual” side of things rather than the “hardcore” end.

The high level of challenge that Borderlands 4 might offer players will likely also be much more visible in the upcoming shooter’s endgame content. Back in July, Timmins spoke about the title’s ambitious endgame, and how Gearbox learned how to develop it thanks to Borderlands 3.

“I care about it a lot personally, as my role on Borderlands 3 was curating what became the endgame for that,” said Timmins. “I know what’s important to our community, and that’s built already into the game. Like we made purposeful decisions with our Action Skill tree, assuming what will come in the future with our endgame.”

“It’s not a secret that we always eventually do level-cap increases, right? That’s built into the high-level design of saying, ‘Okay, if that’s going to still be in our future, how can we make our Action Skill tree this time anticipate that and be balanced from the jump?’”

Borderlands 4 is coming to PC, PS5 and Xbox Series X/S on September 12, with a Nintendo Switch 2 version slated for release on October 3.
