Battlefield 6 Season 2

The issues with Battlefield 6 since its launch haven’t exactly been hidden, especially when it comes to the maps, monetization, progression, and more. Battlefield Studios is aware of this and, as a result, has delayed the start of Season 2 to February 17th. Season 1, originally slated to end on January 20th, will be extended with new content instead.

“During our ongoing development, we’ve continued to review community feedback and, in order to keep our promise, determined that our best path forward is to extend Season 1 and give ourselves extra time to further polish and refine Season 2,” it said in a new community update.

An oh-so-short teaser is available for the next season, showcasing a soldier in a gas mask (which could be new equipment). Perhaps it’s also teasing maps where lethal gas could be a condition to avoid. Time will tell. Interestingly, we could see it in action via Battlefield Labs, as the developer seeks to use it as a “public preview for future game updates in the late stages of development.”

“Both the Season 1 extension and the use of Battlefield Labs will set the foundation for new and exciting content throughout our live seasons, including what will come in Season 2.”

As for Season 1’s extension, it will bring the new Frostfire Bonus Path from January 27th onwards. Alongside a new Soldier Skin, Weapon Package, and XP boosts, you can also get a vehicle skin and player card customizations for free. Battle Pass owners can unlock even more rewards, including an additional Weapon Package, Career XP boost, and more.

The bonus path and Battle Pass will progress together, though only Weekly Challenges are available to progress the former. If that wasn’t enough, players can also obtain login rewards for the extension’s duration. Before January 20th, Battlefield Studios will release a new update with fixes and stability improvements. More details are coming later, so stay tuned.
