Unique mystery-solving adventure game Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective is having its remastered version come to Android and iOS devices later this month.

Capcom has announced that the remastered version of mystery-solving adventure game, Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective, will be coming to iOS and Android devices on March 28. Interestingly, the original release of Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective is currently available on iOS. This version, however, will be delisted from the App Store on March 25, making way for the remastered release.

The remaster of Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective also got a new trailer announcing its iOS and Android release, which you can check out below. The trailer doesn’t really reveal any new details about the game, and is instead focused on giving a lowdown on Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective and its unique characters.

Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective‘s remaster was originally released in June 2023 on PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. The remastered release features higher resolution and frame rates, as well as a better UI consolidated into a single screen, and a soundtrack rearranged by composer Yasumasa Kitagawa.

With this feature, we take a look back at 15 of the best linear games of 2023 that feature excellent pacing and compelling mechanics.

While there’s a ton of fun to be had in expansive open-worlds and choice-driven RPGs, sometimes players just don’t want to be subjected to intense choice paralysis and instead be taken on thrilling rollercoaster rides that don’t really deviate from a set path. The best linear games aim to do just that, and with this feature – we will be taking a look at 15 of the best linear games that you should definitely check out.

Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective

Created by the same team that brought us the Ace Attorney series, Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective is all about uncovering the mystery of your own death as a ghostly version of yourself. Phantom. The gameplay revolves around exploring the curious case in complete depth and then reaching a conclusion – which really makes you feel like a detective making important decisions. It’s all accompanied by some smart writing that never fails to keep you guessing, which makes it such an endearing experience.

Fatal Frame / Project Zero: Mask of the Lunar Eclipse

Fatal Frame: Mask of the Lunar Eclipse released in 2008 to some great critical and commercial reception, and Koei Tecmo has been trying to bring the series back into the limelight with HD remasters for these game. The remaster of Mask of the Lunar Eclipse released earlier this year, and it does a really good job of souping up the visuals and smoothing out certain jagged edges to make the experience a lot more palatable for modern audiences. Of course, it isn’t perfect by any means – but it’s a great horror game nevertheless.

Cocoon

Cocoon is a wonderful puzzle game that’s entirely built around the concept of worlds existing within worlds, and players can combine and manipulate these worlds through the use of certain orbs to solve puzzles and proceed with the story. Cocoon comes from the lead designer for INSIDE and Limbo, so you can be confident that it’s a solid game with a minimalist control scheme and an emotional story that will stay with you long after the credits roll.

Hi-Fi Rush

Tango Gameworks delivered an excellent rhythmic adventure with Hi-Fi Rush, which has quickly gone on to become one of the biggest surprise hits of this year. Hi-Fi Rush features a world where everything taps to a beat, and you must time your actions and attacks to that beat to be able to dish out damage to your opponents. It’s a wonderfully imaginative game that’s executed with great attention to detail, and should be experienced by more fans.

Season: A Letter to the Future

Season: A Letter to the Future is a game that talks about the nature of change. As the protagonist, your job is to capture the sights and sounds and take them to the next Season – a time when everyone will be unaware of what happened in the last Season. It’s a simple and laid back game with a strong focus on exploration and engaging in conversations, but the many themes that it manages to effectively convey through its story is what makes it so beautiful.

Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty

Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty is a Soulslike with a complex web of action and progression mechanics that beautifully flow into one another, and what we get is a game that’s surprisingly fun and approachable despite the many mechanics and systems at play. There are a few erratic difficulty spikes here and there, but Wo Long is a largely fun experience where you must overcome brutal but fair challenges ranging from petty enemies to large bosses with multiple health bars and much more.

Armored Core 6: Fires of Rubicon

Armored Core 6: Fires of Rubicon is FromSoftware’s attempt at modernizing its long-running mech adventure series, and it’s fair to say that the team has largely succeeded in its objective of providing a modern experience for audiences. Armored Core 6 features a fast and frenetic combat lop that’s just a joy to engage with, and the bevy of customization options makes it all so much more compelling.

Deliver Us Mars

Deliver Us Mars is a spiritual successor to Deliver Us The Moon, and the many merits of the 2018 release shine brightly in Deliver Us Mars as well. The story revolves around a space crew embarking on Mars in the hopes of retrieving some stolen spaceships from a mysterious race of aliens called the Outward. It’s all written and performed well, and while the gameplay doesn’t have too many action elements – it does a good job of keeping you engaged through the compelling plot and a wide variety of gameplay options like exploration, puzzle solving, and much more.

Fort Solis

Developer Fallen Leaf’s latest Fort Solis also sends players to explore the furthest depths of the planet Mars, as our protagonist Jack Leary embarks on a search mission for his missing crew. Fort Solis boasts a star cast with the likes of Roger Clark (the voice behind Arthur Morgan) and Troy Baker (the voice behind Joel from The Last of Us) coming to play important characters in this well-written story. Between this and a strong visual presentation powered by Unreal Engine 5, Fort Solis is a solid game that should be experienced by a lot more people.

Jusant

Jusant comes from the guys at Dontnod, the studio best known for its work on the Life is Strange series. Jusant is all about reaching the top of a tall tower while overcoming the many obstacles that lie in your way. It beautifully combines mechanical challenge with immersive storytelling to create something that’s just hard to put down – once you get the hang of it.

Risk of Rain Returns

The original Risk of Rain was an excellent roguelike that featured some amazing combat and compelling progression mechanics, and Risk of Rain Returns is a remaster that knows how to package that experience in a way that feels worthwhile for veterans and newcomers alike. In addition to the base content, Risk of Rain also features enhanced multiplayer options and new build types to experiment with on your repeat playthroughs.

Kirby’s Return to Dream Land Deluxe

Originally released in 2011 for the Nintendo Wii, Kirby’s Return to Dream Land now has a Deluxe Edition that comes with updated graphics and smoothed-out gameplay designed for the Nintendo Switch. Much like every other Kirby game, Return to Dream Land is a simple yet fun adventure where you make your way through a wide variety of levels while consuming your enemies to get their powers and become even stronger.

Vengeful Guardian: Moonrider

JoyMasher’s Vengeful Guardian: Moonrider feels like a glorious throwback to 16-bit games, thanks to some incredible art direction and smooth-flowing gameplay that remains interesting for the entire duration of the experience. Of course, there are some elements and mechanics in place to make the gameplay feel more palatable for modern audiences which makes it feel like you are reliving the glory days of SNES complete with rose-tinted glasses.

Horizon Call of the Mountain

Horizon: Call of the Mountain was one of the first games to be released for PSVR2, and it’s an excellent adaptation of the full-fat Horizon experience in VR format. Sure, the open-world aspect has been swapped out for a more linear game where you make your way through carefully curated combat challenges and platforming runs – but it all works surprisingly well within the context of the game. And then of course, getting to experience the post-post-apocalyptic world of Horizon from up close is also a really distinct kind of joy in and of itself.

Planet of Lana

Planet of Lana puts players in the teeny tiny shoes of Lana as she kickstarts a grand adventure through fantastical realms inhabited by all sorts of robotic and humanoid creatures. Created by developer Wishfully, Planet of Lana takes players on a joyous ride through a wonderfully well-realized world and tells a heartwarming story that hits just the right notes at every moment. Add to that some amazing visuals and cinematic gameplay, and Planet of Lana becomes a thrill ride like no other.

Capcom's cult classic returns with crisper visuals, a rearranged soundtrack and more while still delivering on its story and gameplay.

When you talk about underappreciated titles that slipped through the cracks over the years, especially in the Nintendo DS era, several titles come to mind. Radiant Historia (even after its 3DS re-release), Elite Beat Agents, Meteos, Lunar Knights – everyone has at least one title from that era that they’d love to see in the present day and age. However, one of the more niche titles is probably Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective. Despite a strong critical reception at launch, it sold poorly with Capcom even singling it out as contributing to low sales in that fiscal quarter.

Nevertheless, it became a cult classic, and after all these years, Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective is finally being re-released for Nintendo Switch, PS4, Xbox One and PC. The best part is that Capcom didn’t just see fit to port it as is with a few bells and whistles. It remastered the visuals into crisp high-definition with never-before-seen details. All the tracks have also been lovingly rearranged by The Great Ace Attorney composer Yasumasa Kitagawa, while the interface is revamped to fit everything onto one screen.

"Right off the bat, Ghost Trick does a great job establishing its characters. Each one is brimming with personality."

There’s more to discuss, but the real question is: Does the story, characters and gameplay, lauded for all these years, hold up by today’s standards? The good news is, yes, mostly.

At its core, Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective is a mystery. You play as Sissel, who suddenly “awakens” to a murder. More specifically, his murder. At the crime scene are an assassin and a mysterious woman who Sissel fails to save. However, thanks to the help of the mysterious Ray (portrayed by an appropriately bouncing desk lamp), he’s able to gain special powers known as Ghost Tricks. These allow Sissel to possess different objects and manipulate them to achieve different results.

There are some caveats, though. Sissel has a limited range for reaching objects and can only possess non-organic things (so manipulating corpses is a no-no). However, if he interacts with a victim’s “core”, he can converse with their soul and rewind four minutes before their death. It’s through these circumstances he learns about the mysterious woman named Lynne and embarks on a journey to save her life. Meanwhile, Sissel seeks to know more about his death and the mysterious events seemingly coming to a head that night. He only has time until morning, though, lest his soul disappears.

Right off the bat, Ghost Trick does a great job establishing its characters. Each one is brimming with personality, whether it’s Sissel who deftly balances being laid-back and inquisitive to playing the straight man to the more bizarre happenings of the world. Lynne is bright-eyed and energetic, if a little headstrong, but also earnest and keen to pursue justice.

"In terms of gameplay, Ghost Trick is pretty much one-to-one with its Nintendo DS iteration, except without the second screen."

Then you have Missile, the dog, who proves overenthusiastic when trying to protect his unassuming mistress Kamila but is also underpowered (being a friendly Pomeranian and all). You also have Cabanela, an SIU detective who looks after Lynne while swaggering about in the most exaggerated yet stylish way possible. These are but a handful of the colorful cast that you’ll encounter, and they’re all incredibly fleshed out.

Even the minor characters like “Near-Sighted” Jeego, “One Step Ahead” Tengo, the detectives, the over-dramatic prison guard Bailey and more are delightfully memorable. The remastered visuals help in this regard, significantly adding to each character. It even brings out the best in backgrounds, as you can discern all of the little bits in the Junkyard or the superintendent’s office, among others. The frame rate bump also helps, with animations looking incredibly smooth.

Character portraits are also excellent, but given the extensive dialogue, it would have been nice to see them animated more. They have different expressions (via separate images), but you won’t see any moving mouths or blinking eyes in real-time. These are minor details, but they would have added more to the conversations. On that note, given how sharply written and well-paced the story can be, voice acting would have been a tremendous addition. Unfortunately, there isn’t any (unless you count Missile’s barking), and while not detracting from the core experience, it still would have been great.

In terms of gameplay, Ghost Trick is pretty much one-to-one with its Nintendo DS iteration, except without the second screen. In each chapter, you’re moving about the environment, passing from one object to the next, either learning about your next objective or preventing death. Sometimes, extensive manipulation is required to reach places – like activating a table fan and a blender and then possessing a flag raised by the opposing air currents (somehow). You also must be quick at points, jumping from one object to another in a limited window to progress or trigger an event.

"Completing challenges is required to unlock some of the extras like illustrations and music tracks. It provides something extra to do if nothing else, but they have little to no impact on the main game."

Fortunately, time stops when entering the spirit world, so there’s enough opportunity to plan your route. Preventing deaths means going back in time and altering a character’s fate, receiving hints (and hilarious conversations) with their spirits. Some chapters have multiple steps in this regard, and as you change fate, you gain more time. Checkpoints are also created so you don’t always have to rewind to the beginning of a chapter.

Some chapters can be very straightforward in their solutions, while others – like manipulating lamps to reposition an assassin – are a little more complicated. More mechanics are added as you progress, and the odd puzzle or three will frustrate you, necessitating a rewind to the last checkpoint. It’s not the worst thing in the world – you must go through all the dialogue again, but at least there’s a way to fast-forward it. Still, it can be annoying, since you must redo steps, regardless of whether you’ve discovered the solution or not.

The other downside is that each chapter has only one real solution for progressing forward, so there’s not too much replay value. Challenges accomplished by doing certain things are available to address this. For example, in Chapter 4, you can venture through the telephone line to the Chicken Kitchen in search of an assassin. Getting there yields no results, but you’re rewarded for your curiosity. The game oddly doesn’t specify the conditions for completing a challenge, even when it’s unlocked.

Completing challenges is required to unlock some of the extras like illustrations and music tracks. It provides something extra to do if nothing else, but they have little to no impact on the main game. As for the music, the rearranged tracks are very good and retain that retro vibe while still sounding crisp.

"Even with its nags and quirks, Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective is a great experience. The narrative is genuinely enthralling, deftly mixing tension and levity, and the characters are a blast."

Of course, the classic versions courtesy of Masakazu Sugimori (who also composed a brand new track) are also available. Other than that, the Ghost Puzzles from the iOS version are also present, if for no other reason than to ensure this is the “definitive” version of the game.

Even with its nags and quirks, Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective is a great experience. The narrative is genuinely enthralling, deftly mixing tension and levity, and the characters are a blast. The gameplay is intriguing, with some fun mechanics, even if the experimentation factor is limited. The revamped visuals and rearranged soundtrack help bring it alive, adding even more to an already charming experience.

It’s still the same game, and I can’t help but want a sequel that further builds on these mechanics and explores them in brand-new ways (perhaps on a larger scale). However, for now, Ghost Trick is worth checking out, whether you’re a new player or a fan of the original.

From several highly anticipated sequels to remasters and remakes, June is packed with great games. Check out 15 of them here.

June is upon us, and to say there are some big games to look forward to is an understatement. Three major games, all sequels looking to redeem their franchise names, will release throughout the month. However, there are plenty of other titles to look forward to, whether it’s racing games and MOBA-esque multiplayer titles or remasters, remakes and the odd hidden object/time travel game. Here are 15 big games releasing in June.

Street Fighter 6

Street Fighter 6 is the first mainline sequel in the series since 2016 and the first in a long time without producer Yoshinori Ono at the helm. It returns to its roots of fighting on the streets but also introduces new combat mechanics like the Drive System for unique parries, reversals, dashes, and stronger versions of Special Moves called Overdrives. There are 18 fighters available at launch, from veterans like Ryu, Ken, Chun-Li and Dee Jay to newcomers like Marisa, Manon, JP and Jamie, with a wide range of play styles.

Fighting Ground is where you’ll find Arcade Mode for each character, Extreme Battle for zany fights with unique gimmicks, Training and 1v1 battles, and online matchmaking for Ranked and Unranked fights. Battle Hub is where the real online competition is, with players meeting up in a virtual arcade to duke it out for supremacy (with rollback netcode and crossplay supported). You can also take a break and partake in retro titles like Street Fighter 2.

Single-player fans have World Tour, where you create a custom fighter and explore environments like Metro City from Final Fight, challenging everyone and becoming stronger. You encounter characters like Luke and Chun-Li who can act as masters, participate in mini-games like breaking boards, and customize your character with sweet cosmetics. Of course, there are other cool features like Real-Time Commentary, which provides simulated commentary from a range of professionals like Steve “TastySteve” Scott, James “jchensor” Chen, Thea Trinidad, and much more.

Street Fighter 6 releases on June 2nd for Xbox Series X/S, PS4, PS5 and PC. Whether it becomes a massive success or not, it’s looking much better than its predecessor did at launch.

We Love Katamari REROLL+ Royal Reverie

MONKEYCRAFT of Klonoa Phantasy Reverie Series and Katamari Damacy REROLL fame is back with a remaster of We Love Katamari. REROLL retains the same gameplay loop that fans know and love. You have a Katamari and can roll it around on things to gather them up, thus making it bigger. The Katamari has to be the same size as other objects to roll them up, so there’s some strategy required to grab everything.

Royal Reverie is the new content with players controlling the Great King in his youth as he undergoes the same Katamari rolling to become worthy of the throne. This results in five new challenges, which should test the skills of long-time players. Put all this together with some sleek-looking visuals. We Love Katamari REROLL + Royal Reverie is out on June 2nd for PS4, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS5, PC, and Nintendo Switch.

Diablo 4

Diablo 3 launched in 2012 and went on to sell over 30 million copies by 2015, yet it took this long to get a sequel. Nevertheless, Diablo 4 is nearly upon us and features yet another world-ending threat. As the Wanderer, you’re…wandering around and seeing all this evil business before taking it upon yourself to stop it. After all, who can say no to sweet loot?

With five classes, each with unique skills, play styles and specializations, there are several ways to customize your monster killer. Despite a more visceral, macabre story rife with suffering, Blizzard won’t overtly restrict you. The five regions are mostly free to explore with side quests, World Events, World Bosses, Whispers of the Dead, PvP via the Fields of Torment, +100 Dungeons, Strongholds, and much more to conquer with tons of loot to collect and Aspects to draw on.

Of course, post-story, you get to the real meat – the end game. You’ll progress through World Tiers, add affixes to Dungeons to turn them into Nightmare Dungeons for more rewards, encounter Helltides, complete Capstone Dungeons, fill in Paragon Boards, collect Uniques, and much more to chase on the path to power. If you brave all that and somehow hit max level, a pinnacle boss awaits at the end. And hey, if that’s not enough incentive, Blizzard is begging you to buy the game in their latest live-action launch trailer. Why not do ’em a solid for $70?

Diablo 4 is out on June 6th for Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PS4, PS5 and PC, with Deluxe and Ultimate Edition owners gaining access on June 2nd.

Layers of Fear

Previously called Layers of Fears and now known as, uh, Layers of Fear, this follow-up from Bloober Team and Anshar Studio remakes the first two games and the Inheritance DLC in Unreal Engine 5. It means prettier-looking visuals with more impressive fire effects, particles, textures and lighting. Some new mechanics have also been added, like the oil lamp for burning away ink splotches and fighting off the Artist’s wife in the first game.

The main appeal is the new content surrounding the mysterious Lighthouse and The Final Note DLC. The former sees players controlling the Writer, who is holed up inside the lighthouse and discovers aspects of the other Layers of Fear stories. The Final Note takes place from the perspective of the Artist’s wife and gives some more context to their relationship.

Layers of Fear seeks to link all these stories together with ray tracing, 4K and HDR support. It’s out on June 15th for PC, Xbox Series X/S and PS5, and probably worth checking out for those who didn’t play the original games.

Aliens: Dark Descent

The quality of games based on the Aliens franchise is hit or miss post-Isolation, but Aliens: Dark Descent looks promising. Releasing on June 20th for Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, PS5 and PC, it focuses on a Colonial Marine squad which crashlands on the backwaters planet Lethe and quickly finds it swarming with Xenomorphs. As the commander, you lead a Marine squad through various locations, purging enemies throughout. It’s a tactical squad-based strategy title where you issue commands to units in real-time.

There are five classes of Marines with different weapons, specializations and abilities to customize them with, and each level offers various paths. They’re also persistent, so any motion trackers and shortcuts unlocked will carry over when you return. However, the Xenomorphs will adapt to your strategies eventually.

Keeping your squad healthy and sane while managing resources is key. If any of them fall, you’ll need to train replacements since death is permanent. With various tactics and enemies to encounter, Aliens: Dark Descent looks like a tense but fun action strategy experience while maintaining the scary atmosphere of the movies.

Crash Team Rumble

You’ve seen Crash and friends in kart racers and platformers, but what about a 4v4 multiplayer game with MOBA elements? Not the most enticing proposition, but Crash Team Rumble does have a lot going for it. It’s developed by Toys for Bob of Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time! fame. Along with the titular bandicoot and his sister Coco, you can play as his arch-nemesis Neo Cortex, an alternate-universe Tawna, and Dingodile, among others.

The objective of each match is to gather Wumpa fruit and deposit it in your goal. The opposing team will try to stop you, though. Each character has unique abilities and roles, with Scorers gathering the fruits, Blockers attempting to stop them and Boosters activating Gem Pads for powerful assists. There’s a decent amount of strategy involved, but platforming and understanding each map is the key to success.

Crash Team Rumble launches on June 20th for Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, PS5 and PC, with crossplay support. Though it has post-launch seasons and battle passes, you earn heroes and their abilities by completing in-game challenges.

Final Fantasy 16

Square Enix’s next mainline Final Fantasy, and perhaps its biggest single-player game, was first announced in September 2021. However, it’s been in the works for longer, starting with its concept in 2015. Final Fantasy 16 is darker and more brutal than its predecessors, taking place in Valisthea, with six nations battling over the Crystals. Many of them have Dominants on their side who command powerful Eikons like Titan, Ramuh, Bahamut and much more.

The story focuses on Clive Rosfield, who becomes a Branded after the invasion of his home in Rosalith. With the power of Ifrit, he’s somehow capable of harnessing the power of other Eikons, adding their abilities to his repertoire. Final Fantasy 16’s combat is fully real-time with hack-and-slash mechanics, dodging and combos to chain in various insane ways. Only Clive is playable, with party members coming and going depending on the story.

By exploring the massive world, divided into four large zones, Clive seeks to defy his fate and comes into conflict with the other Dominants. Thus far, Final Fantasy 16 has looked very impressive with its visuals, enemy design, combat and presentation (which includes over 11 hours of cinematics). With a hefty campaign and side content, not to mention New Game+ and end-game challenges, it promises to be a brave new beginning for the franchise when it releases on June 22nd for PS5.

Fans won’t have to wait too long to get their hands on it since a demo goes live roughly two weeks prior, with progress carrying over.

Sonic Origins Plus

Sonic Origins may have turned heads due to its convoluted chart of pre-orders and price, but Sonic Origins Plus may be a more worthwhile proposition. It features the base game with Sonic the Hedgehog 1 and 2, Sonic 3 and Knuckles and Sonic CD. You also get all the previously released DLC content like Mirror Mode, Extreme Missions, backgrounds, music and new character animations.

The Plus Pack is new and adds 12 Sonic games from the Game Gear era, including Sonic Drift 2, Tails’ Adventure, Sonic Triple Trouble, Sonic Labyrinth, Sonic Blast and more. Granted, not all of them are the best, but there is some nostalgia value. Also, you can play Amy Rose in all of the base titles or control Knuckles in Sonic CD. Sonic Origins Plus launches on June 23rd for Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, PS5, PC and Nintendo Switch

Trepang2

Do you miss the days of F.E.A.R. with its slow-mo kills and fast-paced action? Trepang2, from the appropriately named Trepang Studios, may feel that niche. As an amnesiac soldier on the run, you have powerful abilities to assist in mowing down hordes of foes. Slow-mo, like in F.E.A.R., lets you quickly empty a clip for massive damage, but you can also turn invisible and snap necks, slide, take an enemy hostage, throw them or just kick them in the face.

It’s over-the-top and more than a bit ridiculous (like the reloading animation for when you’re wielding dual shotguns), but that makes it fun. Trepang2 releases on June 21st, exclusively for PC.

Amnesia: The Bunker

Frictional Games’ latest survival horror title in the Amnesia series is taking a semi-open world, sandbox approach. Set in an abandoned bunker during World War 1, Amnesia: The Bunker sees Henri Clément, a French soldier, trying to escape. It’s easier said than done when the darkness is overwhelming, a vicious monster is on the prowl, and he only has a revolver with one bullet.

Exploring the environment and scavenging resources while evading hazards and the monster forms the main gameplay loop. The sandbox approach means multiple solutions to different problems. However, the monster also constantly adapts to your actions. Every death and respawn sees the world randomized, which means you’ll need to stay on your toes to survive. Solving questions like how you ended up in the bunker and where your allies have gone is also paramount.

Amnesia: The Bunker has suffered several delays since its initial announcement, but seems to be on track for its release on June 6th on Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and PC. Here’s hoping it reignites interest in the franchise while delivering a terrifying narrative.

Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective

The underrated Capcom adventure finally comes to contemporary platforms. Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective launches on June 30th for Xbox One, PS4, PC, and Nintendo Switch, and sees Sissel, a recently deceased individual turned ghost, trying to find his killer. He only has a few hours to do so but can possess objects for puzzle-solving and go back in time.

Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective was renowned for its aesthetics, soundtrack and unorthodox mechanics. The remaster packs some new musical arrangements (though you can always switch back to the original tracks) and a brand-new track. You can also check out artwork in the Collection tab, play the Ghost Puzzles from the iOS version and complete new challenges. All this is in gorgeous new HD visuals with a revamped interface and higher frame rates.

Dordogne

Developed by UN JE NE SAIS QUOI (French for a pleasing indescribable quality) and UMANIMATIon, Dordogne is a narrative adventure focused on Mimi. In the past, she explores the area of Dordogne, which is rendered in gorgeous hand-painted watercolors, to remember the times spent with her late grandmother.

There are photos to collect, a journal to maintain and much more as Mimi explores caves, kayaks and ventures into forests. It affects Mimi in the present, as she solves puzzles her grandmother left behind. Dordogne promises to be “a heart-warming narrative experience” when it launches on June 13th. It’s coming to PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PS4, Xbox One, PC, and Nintendo Switch.

F1 23

After last year’s overly safe entry, F1 23 is doing things differently by…bringing back Braking Point (but with a “2” at the end). The gameplay sees changes, with F1 2014’s Red Flags returning, new vehicle physics, the option for a 35 percent race distance, and the arrival of F1 World.

F1 World features daily and weekly challenges with a seasonal cadence, and players can unlock new cosmetics and liveries for customization. As you advance through the ranks, your Tech Level improves, lending more parts and upgrades for Team Members to your car and unlocking even more events. Since it links all the modes, a new Safety Rating system is in place to match players who focus on clean driving.

There’s more to look forward to, including two new tracks, the return of classic tracks and Precision Drive tech for more responsive racing via a controller. F1 23 is out on June 16th for Xbox One, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC. Thankfully, it supports Dual Entitlement, so buying the game on one generation of console grants ownership to the other.

Park Beyond

If you’ve been craving a new theme park simulator, Tropico 6 developer Limbic Entertainment has you covered with Park Beyond. As the Visioneer, it’s your job to design and manage amusement parks, create and research rides, terraform the environment, place shops and appeal to your visitors in various ways. Everything is customizable, with thousands of props available to mess around with.

There’s a Campaign Mode where you team up with Cloudstormer and face Hemlock in a war of the parks. However, you can also unwind in Sandbox Mode and build to your heart’s content (or make things much more difficult). Whether it excels over classics like Rollercoaster Tycoon or not, Park Beyond does look pretty appealing. It launches on June 16th for Xbox Series X/S, PS5 and PC.

Crime O’Clock

A hidden object game with a twist, Crime O’Clock is about exploring the maps of multiple eras and preventing crimes like hacking, theft and murder. You’ll take in the machines of the Steam Age, venture underwater to the Atlantean Age, explore beautiful Milan in the Information Age, and even venture to the cyberpunk future in the Aeon Age.

There are markers to investigate, and you’ll have to find clues to piece everything together and find success. However, this isn’t the end, as maps can change and new cases open up. While these crimes are happening in isolation, there’s a common link throughout the eras – it’s your job to find it. EVE, an AI, will accompany you as you hold sessions to deduce clues and solve puzzles.

Crime O’Clock releases on June 30th for PC and Nintendo Switch.

Capcom’s Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective is coming to Xbox One, PS4, PC, and Nintendo Switch on June 30th.
Along with a higher resolution and frame rates, the user interface is consolidated into one screen. All 37 BGM tracks have been rearranged by The Great Ace Attorney composer Yasumasa Kitagawa, though fans can still switch to the original versions.

Capcom has announced that point-and-click adventure game Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective is coming to PC, PS4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch. While it doesn’t yet have a release date, Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective is slated for release in Summer 2023.

Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective puts players in the shoes of Sissel—a ghost stranded in the afterlife on Earth. Gameplay largely revolves around deciphering puzzles, finding clues, and using supernatural abilities to discover the truth behind Sissel’s death.

The re-release of Ghost Trick: Phantom Detective will feature many new features, including new HD visuals, and newly-arranged and recorded music. The re-release will also feature new controls updated from the game’s original Nintendo DS release from back in 2011.

The music behind the game has been one-to-one remastered by Yasumasa Kitagawa, who is known for the music in The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles.

What if you faced a terrifying being that could also learn from your actions and plan accordingly? That’s The Presence, the antagonistic force of Song of Horror. The title features a number of characters, each exploring the house of Sebastian P. Husher and facing off against the terrifying Presence. When one character dies, the next continues the story, investigating in their own way. However, The Presence will learn from each incursion and hunt you down.
