On September 17th, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, For the King 2, and Overthrown will be playable for Standard subscribers on September 17th. Deep Rock Galactic: Survivor is available on the same day for Ultimate and PC Game Pass, marking its exit from early access.

Frostpunk 2 debuts for Xbox Series X/S and cloud on September 18th alongside Wobbly Life. To prepare for Hades 2’s exit from early access, the original game will be playable on September 19th for Ultimate, Standard and PC Game Pass subscribers.

Endless Legend 2 is up next on September 22nd, which marks its entry into early access via Game Preview for PC. Another rogue-like, Sworn, will exit early access on September 23rd. September 25th sees the addition of Peppa Pig World Adventures and Visions of Mana, both releasing for cloud, PC, and Xbox Series X/S across all three subscription tiers.

Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light is available on September 30th, and Sopa – Tale of the Stolen Potato rounds it all off on October 7th. Check out the titles that will leave the service on September 30th below:

Starting July 2025, a host of games will be leaving the service, with July 14 being the “last day to play” for fans of titles like Hades and The Case of the Golden Idol and its sequel. According to What’s On Netflix, these removals account for around 20 percent percent of games available on Netflix Games. Check out the full list of titles being removed below.

For players that might make use of the service to play some of these premium mobile games, the titles in question will start displaying a “Leaving Soon” badge on their icons, giving players plenty of notice that they will be losing access to these games.

“Just like with series and film, games will be removed from Netflix as licenses expire,” said the company in a prior statement. “Players will notice a ‘Leaving Soon’ badge and be notified by the app itself well in advance of removal.”

While plenty of games are leaving the service, the report indicates that Netflix doesn’t yet plan to slow down its investment in its gaming divisions. Rather, the company reportedly wants to aim its investments towards big-screen experiences from this year onwards. Mobile games will still be coming to the service in the meantime, however.

Hades was released on iOS through Netflix Games back in March 2024. The port, made in collaboration between original developer Supergiant Games and Secret6, is compatible with iPhones and iPads running on iOS 16 or later.

Interestingly, reports from back in January 2024 indicated that Atlus was looking to spin-off its RPG, Metaphor: ReFantazio, with a new mobile game that would be available through Netflix Games. Atlus is known for expanding on its popular franchises quite extensively, with games like Persona 3, 4 and 5 all getting spin-offs, sequels, and even anime and movie adaptations. Metaphor: Refantazio getting its own franchise expansion should come as no surprise.

In the meantime, Netflix Games still has several critically-acclaimed titles, including Civilization 7, Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas – The Definitive Edition, and Dead Cells: Netflix Edition.

Before we move ahead, do keep in mind that calling a game AA or AAA isn’t a measure of its popularity or quality so much as it is a measure of the scope of its production and its development budget, which means we might also talk about AA experiences made by companies that usually operate in the AAA sphere. With that out of the way, let’s dive right in.

DISCO ELYSIUM

You could call Disco Elysium a CRPG, and on paper, technically, you would be correct, but that would also be an incredibly reductive way to describe this masterpiece. From its surreal setting to its heavily flavoured and thematically dense writing, from its complete lack of combat to how bizarrely yet ingeniously it uses its RPG mechanics in conjunction with its storytelling, Disco Elysium is a singular game that’s unlike anything else out there.

Do keep in mind that this list only includes games that are natively available on PS5- no PS4 titles that are only playable on PS5 via backward compatibility won’t be featured. No, no Bloodborne, either.

#15. HADES

Roguelites love to push back against the player, and Hades does that quite effectively. Obviously, there’s a lot of RNG involved, with the upgrades that you unlock across the length of any given run having a significant impact on how things pan out for you, but ultimately, this is a game that isn’t afraid to throw some real challenge your way.

Hades, available now to iPhone and iPad players, was developed for iOS in collaboration with Secret6. The game needs an iPhone or iPad running on iOS 16 or later, and players will be able to play as long as they are subscribed to at least the Netflix Standard plan.

While Hades is becoming available on more platforms, Supergiant Games is currently working on the follow-up, appropriately titled Hades 2. The game is targeting an early access launch for Q2 2024, and will be available on PC through Steam and Epic Games Store to start with.

The studio has revealed that the early access release of Hades 2 will feature at least as much content as the original Hades‘ early access launch included. The game will have major updates that add more to its core content while also taking feedback from players into account to further refine its gameplay.

Developed in close collaboration with Secret6, the mobile version should run well on an iPhone or iPad with iOS 16 or later, with full requirements coming later. Along with customizable touch controls, you can also connect a Bluetooth controller to play. Cloud saves and Achievements are supported, though there’s no support for cross-saves with other platforms.

Unfortunately, there aren’t any plans to bring Hades to Android anytime soon. While the announcement may seem out of left field, Supergiant’s previous games, like Bastion and Transistor, have been released for mobiles. Elden Ring

It’s easy to dismiss Elden Ring as little more than open-world Dark Souls. But it takes the sheer freedom of The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild and packs it with weapons, Incantations, Sorceries, armor, enemies, mini-bosses, side quests, lore and quirky characters. Elden Ring is a dense experience that goes from one spectacle to the next.

The Steam Deck has become a popular way to play games, and according to Valve, the system’s pre-order figures lining up for its impending launch in Japan are “better than originally expected”.

Valve also announced earlier this year that it is doubling the shipments of the Steam Deck, and more and more games are launching already compabitle with the device, such as the recently-released Marvel’s Spider-Man Remastered, and even the rumoured PC port for Returnal.

Metal Devil – Horizon Zero Dawn/Forbidden West

The Chariot-class Horus Titan, better known as the Metal Devil in the New World, is unmatched in its destructive power. After all, it was a single swarm that resulted in the Faro Plague and once put an end to humanity. In Horizon Zero Dawn and Forbidden West, they’re inactive but not completely out of the picture. While reactivating one could result in another apocalypse-level event, it would still be kind of cool to fight, maybe in a VR scenario of sorts.

30. Burnout 3: Takedown

To say that Burnout 3: Takedown did away with the tropes that racing games were known for would be an understatement. Its aggressive driving gameplay, where Takedowns formed the core and driving into oncoming traffic kept your Boost meter topped, was a massive change of pace. This was something that anyone could pick up and it immediately felt fun. The fact that it featured a full career mode, split-screen support, multiplayer and some incredible visuals also didn’t hurt.
