If you’ve ever downloaded Genshin Impact in the past, it will still be available to access from your library until the end of service. Updates will also continue. You also have the option to bind their account to other login methods starting on December 17th, 2025, with a pop-up appearing in-game. Any items left unclaimed can also be obtained later by logging into the PS5 version.

As for the reason behind the end of PS4 support, miHoYo notes that it’s because of “Limitations related to hardware performance and platform application size.” Considering the ever-burgeoning size of the free-to-play action RPG, which has consistently added massive new regions and extensive questlines since launching in 2020, this isn’t surprising. Of course, the PlayStation 5 version will remain unaffected.

Aside from PS4 and PS5, Genshin Impact is also available for iOS, Android, and PC.

It’s unlikely that the development team will reveal the next update since Special Program streams are meant for the same. Nevertheless, we should learn more about the hack-and-slash title’s resolution and frame rate on Xbox Series X/S alongside other potential features.

Stay tuned for more details and updates. Zenless Zone Zero is available for PS5, PC, iOS, and Android. Like miHoYo’s other flagship franchises, it’s a gacha game, though the post-apocalyptic setting of New Eridu and combat set it apart.

You can check out our review of the launch version, but it’s received numerous updates and improvements since then. Version 1.7 should launch later this month (adding new characters like Vlad and Vivian, so perhaps the Xbox version will coincide with the same.

New characters like Hugo and Vivian are introduced, but perhaps more importantly, additional content will focus on Anby and her past as Soldier 0. As a new S-Rank Attack Agent, Silver Soldier – Anby can inflict Aftershock as a new Status effect and increase allies’ critical damage against a target.

The other new S-Rank is Trigger, part of Obol Squad (same as Soldier 11) and an Electric Stun Agent. Her gimmick is Purge, which increases the party’s damage against an enemy while also increasing Aftershock damage. If that wasn’t enough, Pulchra Fellini will be available as a new A-Rank Physical Stun character.

Other content includes a new Difficulty 6 in Battlefront Purge, Shadow Operation in Hollow Zero, and a new boss Geppetto. Stay tuned for more details ahead of the update’s release.

Titled “Light Slips the Gate, Shadow Greets the Throne,” the next update will introduce Mydei and Tribbie. The former is a Destruction character who deals Imaginary damage and seeks the Coreflame of Strife. The latter is a Harmony character who deals Quantum damage and is actually three figures – Tribbie, Trianne, and Trinnon, aka Tribios.

The livestream will also likely detail the next step in the Trailblaze quest and further delve into the trials and tribulations of Amphoreus. This storyline is the longest for the free-to-play RPG, playing out over eight updates in total.

The newest content coming to the free-to-play action RPG will be showcased. These include new limited five-star characters, Astra Yao and her bodyguard, Eveline Chevalier. The former is an Agent specializing in Ether damage and acting as a Support.

Meanwhile, the latter is an Attack Agent who deals Fire damage. Both are the only two characters revealed from the Stars of Lyra faction. Following the events of Version 1.4, it remains to be seen how their paths will cross with protagonists Belle and Wise.

The story of Amphoreus will span eight updates and see the Trailblazer and Dan Heng arrive first in the Abyss of Fate. They eventually learn more about the Titans that created the world and meet with Oronyx (who specializes in Time). Players will unlock the new Path of Remembrance and gain a new ally, Mem, who can fight alongside them in battle.

Other new locations await, but there will also be new limited-time characters to unlock. These include The Herta, the true appearance of the Genius Society member, who is an Ice Erudition character. Next is Aglaea, a Chrysos Heir on the Flame-Chase Journey that follows the Path of Remembrance. She can summon her own ally, the Garmentmaker, to execute duel attacks for massive damage.

As the centrepiece of the next Archon Quest, the Pyro Archon fights with a claymore and the Flamestrider, smacking opponents with it like Dante in Devil May Cry 5. Of course, the latter is also great while exploring the world since it can climb, glide, and even traverse water. The other 5-star character arriving later in the update is Citlali, who deals Cryo damage.

As for the new quest, it sees Natlan’s heroes reuniting against the new Abyssal Mimic Dragon. The Traveler will also unlock the ability to wield Pyro, adding to their repertoire of elemental masteries. If that wasn’t enough, the Lantern Rite festival returns with new rewards and even the option for a free 4-star character from Liyue.

Subscribers can also avail of free materials to get a leg up, from 10 Hero’s Wit to level up a character, 15 Mystic Enhancement Ore to improve weapons, 100,000 Mora, and Northlander Billet Trove to choose one of five 4-star weapons. You also get two Intertwined Fate to pull for new characters on event banners.

Furthermore, the Xbox version launches alongside Version 5.2, “Tapestry of Spirit and Flame,” the next chapter set in the nation of Natlan. It adds two new characters, Chasca and Ororon, and new areas to explore.

Genshin Impact is seemingly only the beginning, with Zenless Zone Zero also allegedly coming to Xbox with its next update in December. Nothing is official, so stay tuned for announcements in the coming weeks.

At Gamescom Opening Night live, miHoYo announced that Genshin Impact is finally coming to Xbox Series X/S on November 20. The developer made the announcement with a new trailer, which also showcased Natlan, another major nation that the game will be adding with an upcoming update. Check out the trailer below for a glimpse of what it will bring. 

Notably, miHoYo hasn’t announced the game for Xbox One, even though on PlayStation it is a cross-gen title. It also remains to be seen whether we can expect Genshin Impact to release for Switch as well- or perhaps its upcoming successor?

Taking to Twitter via the game’s official page, miHoYo has revealed that Zenless Zone Zero has surpassed 50 million downloads worldwide across all platforms. The developer is commemorating the milestone by gifting players with 1,600 units of in-game currency Polychrome.

miHoYo also says it is “aware that there are still lots of improvements to be made”, and that it is “actively pushing forward the optimization and development of each aspect of the game.”

“In future updates, we will continue to optimize aspects such as game performance,” miHoYo’s message reads. “While preparing for the official release, we have also been hard at work developing the cloud gaming version of Zenless Zone Zero. In the near future, we hope that Proxies will be able to enjoy New Eridu in more kinds of environments.”
