After the shutdown of multiplayer service GameSpy, there was trepidation over which games would eventually continue receiving support for the same. Publisher EA, which has a number of online titles that were affected by the GameSpy closure, has now revealed a list of 50 games that will stop receiving online and multiplayer support from June 30th onwards.

These include a number of top-tier titles and their expansions such as Battlefield 1942, Battlefield 2 for PC, Battlefield 2: Modern Combat (PS2), Battlefield 2142 for PC and Mac, Battlefield Vietnam for PC, Bejeweled 2 (Wii), Bulletstorm (PS3), Command & Conquer 3: Tiberium Wars (PC/Mac), Command & Conquer: Generals (PC/Mac), Crysis 1 and 2 for PC, Crysis Wars and many more.

Some titles like Star Wars: Battlefront 2 will continue on thank to third party support but what about the rest? It’s still possible that some of these games could continue but certainly not all of them. Thoughts? Let us know in the comments.

New co-op mode Co-driver lets a second player control the game world.

A brand new trailer for the upcoming WiiU version of 2012’s Need for Speed: Most Wanted has landed. The port is being developed to utilize the unique capabilities of the WiiU’s games to the full extent, to deliver “the definitive Most Wanted experience” according to EA. The trailer showcases some of the features that are exclusive to Nintendo’s platform.

Like most WiiU games, the tablet controller is capable of streaming the game off screen. In addition to that, there’s also a new local co-op mode, Co-Drive, where one player can drive using the Wii Remote controller while the other can manipulate the game world elements such as cop difficulty, manipulate traffic, activate boost and more with a interactive real time map on the WiiU GamePad.

The game will also include several other features to make navigation easier with the Tablet gamepad. Need for Speed: Most Wanted arrives for the WiiU on March 19th in North America, and on the 21st in Europe.

French online retailer CDiscount has listed Medal of Honor: Warfighter and Need for Speed 2012 for the PS Vita.

Medal of Honor joins a long list of huge third party games making their way to the Vita, following in the footsteps of Ghost Recon, Need for Speed, Assassin’s Creed and others.

Of course, none of these are confirmed as of yet, but it’s highly possible that each one of them will be announced.

The retailer has also listed Need for Speed 2012 for the PS Vita. Since EA confirmed yesterday that Criterion is developing Most Wanted 2 and since rumours about the same hitting the Vita have been running around (linked above), it’s pretty obvious that the game will be Most Wanted 2.

None of these are confirmed right now, but again, we believe they will be at E3 this week.

Stay tuned for more updates.

EA has confirmed that Criterion, developers of the Burnout franchise and 2010’s Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit, is developing the next NFS title, Need for Speed: Most Wanted 2, after much speculation.

EA has also announced that they will be revealing more details on the game, along with a live gameplay demonstration, at their E3 conference this week.

Their full E3 2012 lineup is given below:

Battlefield 3: Close Quarters and Battlefield 3: Armored Kill

Expect Most Wanted 2 to be announced for a late 2012 release. We’re guessing it’ll be announced for the Xbox 360, PS3, Wii U, PC and the Vita as well, since it was rumoured earlier.
According to a new job ad by Criterion spotted by Superannuation, Criterion, developers of the excellent Burnout franchise and 2010’s Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit, is hiring people to work on “optimising and tuning” a game “for the PS Vita”. Other job responsibilities include “interfacing the game engine with several parts of the Vita OS” and “implementing interoperation between PS3 and the Vita”.

This could possibly a new Burnout game, which has long been in the pipeline, ever since the last Burnout game- Burnout Pardise- came out in 2008.

However, it’s possible that it’s the next Need for Speed game Criterion is working on, possibly the recently leaked Most Wanted 2.

Whichever one it is, if Criterion is taking out enough time to optimise the game for the Vita, that certainly is a good sign. So Vita owners have something look forward to, however few they may be.

Stay tuned for more updates.

Earlier we reported that BT Games had leaked Dead Space 3, but we have an even bigger leak now with Need for Speed: Most Wanted 2 being the latest casualty for EA.

The game is not yet confirmed obviously, but you can be sure it is real because BT Games has been right in the past. They’re a South African retailer with any disregard for NDAs.

It looks like the game should be announced soon or at E3, considering there’s just 2 months to go.

Criterion could be developing the game, but we’re not sure actually. They were hiring for an open world racer last year, but Most Wanted 2 does not fit the bill of an open world racer but who knows.

Tell us what you think in the comments section below.

Thanks, Eurogamer.
