Criterion hiring for PS Vita game, most likely Most Wanted 2

According to a new job ad by Criterion spotted by Superannuation, Criterion, developers of the excellent Burnout franchise and 2010’s Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit, is hiring people to work on “optimising and tuning” a game “for the PS Vita”. Other job responsibilities include “interfacing the game engine with several parts of the Vita OS” and “implementing interoperation between PS3 and the Vita”.

This could possibly a new Burnout game, which has long been in the pipeline, ever since the last Burnout game- Burnout Pardise- came out in 2008.

However, it’s possible that it’s the next Need for Speed game Criterion is working on, possibly the recently leaked Most Wanted 2.

Whichever one it is, if Criterion is taking out enough time to optimise the game for the Vita, that certainly is a good sign. So Vita owners have something look forward to, however few they may be.

Stay tuned for more updates.
