Multiple Sony customer support emails confirm that membership stacking for both services has been disabled as of now.

PS4 and PS5 users have been unable to redeem their pre-paid PS Plus and PS Now codes over the last few days. While Sony hasn’t officially provided any communication on the matter, this seems to be directly connected with the upcoming launch of the revamped PS Plus service.

Many users who contacted Sony’s customer support services for the same were also informed that the company has blocked the stacking of membership. Quite a few users had stacked up on years’ worth of PS Now subscriptions to save up on money, what with Sony confirming that PS Now users will automatically bumped up to the PS Plus Premium tier when it launches. That said, those who redeem a PS Plus code once their active membership is expired will be able to do so without any issues.

“Due to the upcoming changes in the PS plus subscription, currently the PS Plus stacking is not available as we have removed the ability to do that,” one ResetEra user was told.

One Push Square reader also received a mail from a Sony support executive, which confirms that membership stacking of either services has been disabled as of now.

“I have checked the voucher and your account and can conclude that as of now there is a temporarily deactivated function for PS Plus/PS Now subscriptions, which does not allow for stacking of either membership on already active memberships,” the email raids. “This is only temporary, and as soon as we have more information about [it], we will let our players know.”

With the new PS Plus set to roll out starting the end of May and then throughout June in several regions of the world, details on it are likely to keep coming in in the coming days and weeks. Stay tuned to GamingBolt for all those updates.

Celeste and Totally Reliable Delivery Service also round out a solid month on the streaming focused service.

November is here, as hard as that is to believe, as 2021 marches on. The one good thing about the inevitable march of time is that all the various services get refreshed with new titles to enjoy. One of those is Sony’s PlayStation Now service, the company’s streaming-focused service that now allows you to download most games. This month will see a unique mix of various titles from the crime-ridden streets to fantastical worlds and lands.

One of the headline titles is the recent Mafia: Definitive Edition. The game is a full remake of the first game in the series and sees you navigating a crime family in an open world setting. The second high-profile title is Final Fantasy 9. This is a remaster of the PS1 classic, the final mainline game of that time period, that sees a group of unlikely allies on a journey across worlds. On the more smaller side, we also have the acclaimed platformer Celeste and the playful delivery sim Totally Reliable Delivery Service. You can read the full details at the official blog through here.

The games will be available starting November 2nd on the service. Mafia: Definitive Edition is said to be on the PS now until February 28th, with the other three titles having no specific leave date given.

Celeste and Mafia: Definitive Edition might be coming to PS Now, as reported by French outlet Dealabs.

A recent rumor from French website Dealabs has suggested that Celeste and Mafia: Definitive Edition might be making their way to PS Now, Sony’s subscription streaming service. The same source also previously leaked next month’s PS Plus games, and has routinely done the same in the past, which adds a fair bit of credibility to the whole affair.

You should take this information with a grain of salt nevertheless. That said, it would certainly be great that the two games get added to the service this time around, as both are pretty highly regarded titles.

Sony has been putting more and more resources into its subscription service lately, which is clearly evident from the upcoming inclusion of GTA 3 from GTA: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition. A recent patent from Sony also suggests that PS5 game streaming might be added to the service as well. In select European countries, Sony is also offering a 50% off on an yearly subscription, making it an opportune time to give it a go.

PS Now's yearly subscription is available at a 50% discount in select European countries, and the offer will be running up until October 31.

Sony’s PS Now subscription has slowly but steadily been growing in popularity, with highly acclaimed titles such as The Last of Us Part 2 being added to the service in recent weeks and months. Now, Sony has also doubled down by discounting the yearly subscription’s price to half in select European countries.

Those interested can click through here to see if the offer is valid. The package usually costs £49.99, and with the offer availed – it costs £24.99. The offer will be running up until October 31st, so interested fans should act quickly. In most countries, PS Now’s subscription will auto-renew as well, so you should keep that in mind should you purchase it.

Upcoming games on the service include the recently revealed GTA 3 Definitive Edition from GTA: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition, Final Fantasy 9, and Final Fantasy 10/10-2 HD Remaster. A recent patent from Sony also suggested PS5 games being available to stream on the service , so fans will possibly have plenty to dig into in the not so distant future.

Multiple titles will come to the streaming service this month, including Naughty Dog's latest critically-acclaimed action title.

It’s hard to believe, but October is already here. 2021 is moving fast, it feels like, but at least that means that the various services are also constantly getting a new crop of video games for you to enjoy. Sony’s PlayStation Now gets its refresh for the month, and there’s some pretty big titles joining, as well as some smaller things to round out the month.

As announced via the official PlayStation blog, the big headline game will be Naughty Dog’s The Last of Us Part 2. The game was last year’s critically-acclaimed action title that returned to the post-societal world of The Last of Us. Alongside it also comes Fallout 76, the online-focused spin-off of the popular series, as well as Desperados 3, the latest game in the strategy series. Topping things off will be Final Fantasy 8 Remastered, Yet Another Zombie Defense HD and Victor Vran: Overkill Edition.

All those games will go live on PlayStation Now starting October 5th. The Last of Us Part 2 will remain on the service until January 3, 2022 with none of the other titles giving a specific date to leave.

A recent patent by Sony suggests that PS5 games could be added to PS Now for streaming sometime in the future.

A recent patent by Sony suggests that the console manufacturer may be planning to add PS5 game streaming to its cloud subscription service, PlayStation Now. As spotted by DualShockers, the patent suggests the use of multiple high-speed NVMe drives to help stream PS5 games remotely.

The patent also, of course, goes in-depth about how those NVMe drives will be functioning in tandem with each other to enable streaming of current-gen games. Given how hard getting a PS5 or Xbox Series X/S has been, it’s great that more fans will be able to enjoy games like Returnal or Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart, if this does indeed come to fruition. That said, while the patent most definitely hints that PS5 games will be coming to the service, it’s best that fans remain only cautiously optimistic for now.

This comes shortly after Microsoft replaced its cloud server blades with Xbox Series X/S hardware, and has allowed xCloud and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate members to stream current-gen games on a multitude of devices.

An interesting group of titles will come to Sony's streaming service this month, including two entries in classic Japanese franchises.

It’s hard to believe, but we are already in a new month. It’s that time again where the various services get a new slate of games (and some also leave, but let’s not focus on that at the moment). Sony’s streaming service, PlayStation Now, is getting its list for this month, and it has quite an interesting blend of titles, including two number 7s in two Japanese franchises of two different eras.

As announced earlier in the month, Final Fantasy 7 will be among the first of several classic Final Fantasy titles that will come and that starts this month. Another 7 is Tekken 7, the latest and ongoing entry in the classic fighting franchise, which will be on the service until February 28 of next year. To round out the lineup, there is also the shooter Killing Floor 2, the indie adventure game Windbound, and two very different RPG titles with Pathfinder: Kingmaker and Moonlighter. You can see more details on the official PlayStation blog through here.

All of these titles will be available on PlayStation Now via PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4 and PC starting on September 7th.

Multiple titles in Square Enix's legendary RPG series will find their way onto Sony's streaming service throughout the year.

There are few franchises that can really manage to stand the test of time. One of those select few happens to be Final Fantasy. The series began all the way in the NES era and has continued on in some form to this very day with 15 (soon to be 16) mainline titles and a variety of spin-offs and individual sequels. With Final Fantasy 7‘s release in 1997, the brand also became closely associated with PlayStation, and now that game will appropriately be the first in several classic entries coming to the PS Now service.

As announced earlier today, five classic Final Fantasy titles will be coming to PS Now starting this month with the remastered version of the original Final Fantasy 7. In October, Final Fantasy 8 Remastered will follow, and then in November will be Final Fantasy 9 to round out the original PS1 released trio of titles. Then for December, it will be a double whammy with HD remasters of Final Fantasy 10 and its sequel, 10-2.
FromSoftware's dark fantasy title beat out Horizon Zero Dawn and The Last of Us for the top spot on Sony's streaming service.

Sony has revealed the most played games on its PlayStation Now games on console and PC between March 1st and June 1st. While the most popular games probably won’t surprise anyone, it’s worth noting what they are, because it proves there’s a market for those games on PC.

Bloodborne was the most played game on PlayStation Now on PC based on global playtime during the three-month period in question, coming in ahead of Horizon Zero Dawn, The Last of Us, Marvel’s Avengers, and Detroit: Become Human. PlayStation Now is currently the only place players can play games like The Last of Us and Bloodborne on PC.

As far as we can tell, this is the first time Sony has shared information on what the most-played PlayStation Now games on PC are. Sony also revealed the most-played PlayStation Now games on PS4 and PS5 during the same timeframe. They were Marvel’s Avengers, Horizon Zero Dawn, Call of Duty: Black Ops 3, F1 2020, and WWE 2K19.

Another month has turned over, meaning that it’s time for the various services to bring a fresh slate of games. One of those is, of course, PlayStation Now, Sony’s original streaming service. This week its filled with superpowers, jets and zombies.

As announced via the official PlayStation blog, the headliners for the month are no doubt Ace Combat 7: Skies Unknown, the latest entry in Bandai Namco’s aerial combat series, and the InFamous: Second Son, the last entry in Sucker Punch’s superpower-infused open world series. On top of that you also get a lot of multiplayer action with World War Z where you and a group tackle hordes of zombies, and the unique shooter, puzzler combo called Superhot that tasks you to figure out the best way to tackle rooms of enemies as time moves alongside you.

All those games will be playable starting on March 2nd via PlayStation Now, which you use via PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4 and PC.
