Star Renegades‘ stylish mix of real-time strategy and turn-based combat was fairly acclaimed when it released on PC, Xbox One, PC, and Switch. Now, fans that want to own a copy of the game physically will be able to do so because developer ININ Games and publisher Raw Fury teaming up with Strictly Limited Games to make it happen.

There are two editions, each of will have 2,500 copies available and are available on PS4 and Switch. The big prize here is the Collector’s Edition, which looks very nice and comes with a physical copy of the game, a manual, a sticker a reversible large poster, a modular diorama, an artbook, seven character cards, and a copy of the soundtrack. It will retail for $60.99.

There will also be a Limited Edition, which only includes a manual and case, but is individually numbered. It will retail for $36.99. Pre-orders for both editions are live now at Strictly Limited Games. Fans will have to move quickly to grab one before it sells out.

Murder by Numbers

Mix the story-telling of visual novels with investigative mechanics that use Picross puzzles, and you get Murder by Numbers. Developed by Mediatonic of Fall Guys fame, the story sees Honor Mizrahi working with her robot SCOUT to investigate a series of strange murder cases. Though the puzzles are fairly limited due to their inherent nature, they combine well with the aesthetic to offer one of the more unique mystery games out there.

You just can’t keep a good rebellion down and Massive Damage’s Star Renegades is a testament to that. The strategy RPG is now available for PC via Steam and Xbox Game Pass and sees the player assembling a group of rebels to battle against the invading Imperium. Check out the release trailer below.

Star Renegades sees the player exploring a number of environments and partaking in tactical turn-based battles, delaying foes and exploiting their weaknesses in combat. However, each campaign is procedurally generated. You can upgrade party members with new weapons and gear along with new abilities but failing a run means starting all over.

Things get even more interesting in how your enemies evolve throughout a run. There’s an entire hierarchy in the Imperium and as your party becomes stronger, so too will the enemy as they learn new abilities and tactics. Star Renegades is out on PC but will be coming to PS4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch later this year. Stay tuned for more details in the meantime.

It’s a new month, which means new Game Pass offerings for its subscribers. Microsoft has released details on new and upcoming titles for the service.

On September 3rd, Resident Evil 7: Biohazard, Tell Me Why: Chapter Two and Touhou Luna Nights will be available for both console and PC subscribers. Console players will get access to The Jackbox Party Pack 4 which contains serial different games like Fibbage: Enough About You, Survive the Internet and much more. With support for up to 16 players, it’s the perfect game for friends that’s not called Among Us or Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout.

On September 8, strategy RPG Star Renegades becomes available while Disgaea 4 Complete+ lands on September 10th, both available to PC subscribers. Hotshot Racing will be available on the latter date for console players while Tell Me Why: Chapter Three will be available to subscribers on both platforms.

Destiny 2: Shadowkeep and Forsaken will be available for console users later this month though a specific date has yet to be mentioned.

Taking place in space with a resistance hellbent on toppling an empire, the campaign consists of procedurally generated missions and encounters. Players will participate in turn-based battles but as they grow stronger, so will their enemies. The Adversary System ensures that enemies evolve and rank up, resulting in subsequent playthroughs being tougher.

As you die and start another playthrough, you’ll gain different characters (like the rebel Wynn Syphex) to use. Any squad members that survive could have children, whose descendants will join the ongoing conflict. With plenty of equipment to find and upgrades to unlock, Star Renegades promises to keep RPG fans busy. Stay tuned for more details en route to the game’s launch.

However, the new cinematic trailer goes a different route. It’s about Wynn Syphex, one of the key rebels, and what the fight against the Imperium means for her. Check it out below.

The rogue-lite nature of the game means that players will have to restart runs when dying. The twist is that Imperium foes will evolve and devise their own means of fighting back. As the campaign rolls on, you could end up fighting with their past family (as seems to be the case with Wynn).

In development for Xbox One, PS4, PC and Nintendo Switch, Star Renegades is slated to release this year. Along with procedurally generated missions, players can look forward to “dozens” of alternate characters and a variety of futuristic locales. Stay tuned for more details in the coming months.

Indie developer Massive Damage and publisher Raw Fury debuted new gameplay footage of their upcoming turn based strategy RPG Star Renegades at the IGN expo, giving an extended look at the game – more specifically, its combat – in roughly 8 minutes of footage. The impressive 2D art style also shines in the video- check it out below.

Star Renegades features emergent missions and and a Nemesis-style system – called the Adversary system – that sees enemies evolving, ranking up, and growing increasingly more capable. The reactive combat system involves combos, interrupts, and explosive attacks. Meanwhile, procedurally generated missions and evolving enemies promise to encourage multiple playthroughs. Plenty of this is shown off in the new gameplay video below.

Star Renegades is currently in development for PS4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC some time this year, but doesn’t yet have a specific release date nailed down. Stay tuned to GamingBolt for more updates.

Massive Damage Inc, better known as the studio behind Halcyon 6: Starbase Commander, has released a teaser trailer for its next big game. Star Renegades is more of a tactical squad-based RPG with rogue-lite elements that sees you constantly at war with an evil space empire. With a turn-based battle system focused on interrupts and counters (which should be somewhat good news for Grandia fans out there), Star Renegades sports a campaign with procedurally generated missions. You’ll also deal with unique enemies and bosses over time thanks to the Intelligent Adversary system. This system ensures that new threats emerge as enemy officers rise in the ranks.

There will also be “dozens of alternate” characters that can emerge as squad members survive skirmishes and their descendants take up the fight. While it remains to be seen if the grind will be more nuanced than Halcyon 6, we’re excited for the combat system’s potential and rogue-lite mechanics. Star Renegades is out later this year for PC.
