Halcyon 6: Lightspeed Edition Launching This August To Mix Things Up

Owners of the original get the upgrade for free.

Halcyon 6: Starbase Commander launched last year on PC, and went on to do reasonably well for itself. After a year’s worth of feedback, developers Massive Damage are returning with Halcyon 6: Lightspeed Edition, a revamped, overhauled version of the game that mixes a lot of things up.

Among the things being changed are the game’s progression for its campaign, new loadout screen and better customization options, a new difficulty mode, and overall redone UI from the ground up, to keep things more legible than they were in the original game. And the best part is, if you own the original game already, you get Lightspeed Edition for absolutely free.

“The best part of working on Halcyon 6 is our supportive community who loves this game as much as we do,” said Ken Seto, CEO of Massive Damage. “From the streamlined campaign, new officer classes, new powers, new UI, and many quality of life improvements, Halcyon 6: Lightspeed Edition drove us back to the drawing board to look over every aspect of the original game. We couldn’t have done it without our fans and that’s why we’ll be giving all of our existing players a FREE copy of Lightspeed Edition.”

Lightspeed Edition launches on PC on August 10. Make sure to check out the game’s trailer for yourself below.
