Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge is one of the best beat ’em ups to have released in recent years, and soon enough, there will be more of it for players to dive into. Earlier this year, Tribute Games and Dotemu announced Dimension Shellshock, an expansion for the title, and now, a specific release date has been announced.

Dimension Shellshock will launch later this month, on August 31, and new details have also been revealed on what it’ll bring. Two new playable characters will be added with Karai and Miyamoto Usagi, star of the Usagi Yojimbo comic book series, the former of whom hadn’t previously been revealed for the DLC. Additionally, Dimension Shellshock will also add a new Survival Mode that will task players with jumping from dimension to dimension in search of collectible crystals. Publisher Dotemu and developer Tribute Games have revealed details about the new Survival Mode coming to side-scrolling beat ’em up Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge in its upcoming Dimension Shellshock DLC. The game mode can be checked out in the video detailing the game mode below.

The new game mode will have players run through different dimensions, fighting hordes of enemies as they level up and get stronger along the way. The game mode also features a new progression system that will have players grow their ninja power bars, and extra hit points, among other things.

Survival Mode will bring with it new crystals that players can collect to jump from dimension to dimension. Each one of these dimensions will feature its own unique look and feel. The trailer shows off dimensions inspired by various concepts, like the Japan-inspired Edo dimension, an 8-bit dimension, and a dimension based on Omnichannel 6.

The Dimension Shellshock DLC for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge was announced back in June. The DLC will also bring with it new playable characters, including ronin rabbit Usagi Yojimbo.

Shortly after the launch of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge, developers Tribute Games and Dotemu said that they would consider developing DLC for the title depending on how it was received. Of course, the beat ’em up went on to be received glowingly by critics and audiences alike, and true to their word, the developers have indeed announced new DLC for the game.

Dotemu and Tribute games have announced Dimension Shellshock, an upcoming expansion for TMNT: Shredder’s Revenge, which will see the titular Turtles hopping across dimensions in an effort to stop Shredder in his attempts to conquer the multiverse.

Dimension Shellshock will add new playable characters, including ronin rabbit Usagi Yojimbo, as well as a new game mode that’ll let players explore and play through a variety of new dimensions. You can also look forward to new unlockable colour palettes for character costumes, in addition to new tracks composed by Tee Lopes.

Dimension Shellshock is set to launch sometime later this year. Check out its announcement trailer below.
