The Division Resurgence Announced for iOS and Android, First Trailer Revealed

Ubisoft has announced The Division Resurgence, a new game in the looter shooter series that’s coming to mobile devices. Set in open-world New York, it offers a new storyline and a new faction, the Free Men, to fight. It’s also free-to-play – check out the first trailer below.

With a campaign independent from The Division 1 and 2, Resurgence is set after the Green Virus causes the collapse of America. As part of the first wave of the Strategic Homeland Division, players battle enemy factions and help civilians survive. With controls and a UI built for mobile, the title offers solo and co-op play with various activities like story missions.

You’ll collect loot, craft and install mods to strengthen your character. Leveling up also unlocks new gadgets and signature weapons along with Specializations. Each Specialization is alluded to as offering new abilities that fall into specific roles.

The Division Resurgence doesn’t have a release date but closed alpha sign-ups are currently live for iOS and Android.

The Division Mobile Announcement is Coming Today – Rumor

Recently, Ubisoft Massive confirmed an announcement for The Division on mobiles was set for July. Announced in May 2021 along with The Division Heartland, the title hasn’t received much new information since then. However, it seems we won’t have to wait long for the reveal.

Insider Tom Henderson recently tweeted the old roadmap for The Division’s media reveals. The Division Mobile was circled and he simply said “Today.” Ubisoft hasn’t confirmed anything, but given Henderson’s track record, it seems very likely that the announcement is coming today.

As for what could be showcased, we may see the first gameplay of the mobile version along with a release window. Sign-ups for play-tests may also become available en route to launch. It may even get a limited release ahead of its worldwide launch. We’ll have to wait for more details.

In the meantime, The Division 2 will see the launch of Season 10 in August with Season 11 coming in December. Year 5 content has also been confirmed with Ubisoft Bucharest, Ubisoft Shangai and Ubisoft Toronto working with Massive.

The Division 2 Year 5 Confirmed, Mobile Game Announcement Coming in July

The Division 2 is in its ninth season but still going strong. Developer Ubisoft Massive confirmed release months for Season 10 and 11 along with announcing a public test server for the next Title Update. However, some would have no doubt noticed the lack of any mention of the Specialization Revamp in Year 4.

According to the developer, it’s “still working on the feature” and will only announce a release date “when we are absolutely satisfied with the quality.” The good news is that The Division 2 will have a Year 5 thanks to the support of Ubisoft Bucharest, Ubisoft Toronto and Ubisoft Shanghai (which also worked on Year 4). No news yet on what can be expected so stay tuned in the coming months.

As for The Division on mobile platforms, announced in May 2021, there will be an update in the “very near future.” The current roadmap indicates an announcement this month so stay tuned. Red Storm Entertainment is working on The Division Heartland with closed testing ongoing. Those who wish to participate can sign up here with more information coming at a “later date.”
